The New York Musical Festival has announced that due to an overwhelming number of submissions for its 2018 Next Link Project, they have decided to extend the deadline to Wednesday November 8 at 11.59pm EST. This is an extension of one week from the previously announced deadline of today, November 1.
The Jeff Awards announced today that Steve Scott will be presented with a Special Jeff Award at the Equity awards ceremony to be held on November 6th at Drury Lane Oakbrook. Mr. Scott will be honored for his career achievements that have inspired artistic collaboration, educational outreach and demonstrated dramatic creativity for more than 37 years.
Seven world premiere plays seen first by Chicago audiences were among those receiving nominations by The Jeff Awards. 158 nominations in 33 categories honor Chicago Equity theatrical productions that opened between August 1, 2016 and July 31, 2017.

In addition, the Festival will include the WORDS + MUSIC project: five moments of new opera, as created by UMKC Conservatory composers in collaboration with Roundtable members, staged with Lyric Opera performers.
