HBO to Debut Documentary BECOMING MIKE NICHOLS, 2/22

If you like THE SOUND OF MUSIC, do go see it at the Hippodrome. You won't be disappointed. If you don't like THE SOUND OF MUSIC, (hard to imagine, but some folk don't), there's no reason to think that this production will change your mind.

Breaking News: Sam Mendes Departs Broadway-Bound CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY; Jack O'Brien to Take His Place?

According to Variety, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is currently playing in the West End, will get a new director for it's Broadway run- which is aiming for the 2016-17 season. Sam Mendes will no longer helm the incoming musical due to scheduling conflicts, and rumor has  it that Jack O'Brien (who has previously worked with composers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman in HAIRSPRAY) will fill his place. Mendes will remain as a show producer and will reportedly be a part of the selection for his replacement. 

The Dallas Opera to Present Frederica von Stade in Concert, 1/31

 DALLAS, TX, December 8, 2015 – The Dallas Opera will present opera legend Frederica von Stade, mezzo-soprano, for another magnificent performance in The Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series. The one-time-only recital will be presented Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at City Performance Hall (a 749-seat venue located at 2520 Flora Street in the Arts District, Dallas, TX 75201). Also featured at the exclusive event will be Jake Heggie, composer (Great Scott, Moby-Dick) and accomplished pianist, who has had a long-standing artistic collaboration with Miss von Stade.
