Linda Eder & More Set for Broadway Arranger's Wedding Reception to Benefit The Shed, 9/26

Shortly after Broadway composer and arranger Kim Scharnberg proposed to Gwynn Griffin, also a musician, they agreed they didn't want a traditional reception for their wedding. They wanted to do a benefit concert instead, and what better place than one of their favorite venues, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival's historic Music Shed.

Ford's Theatre Society Presents New Wildhorn Musical, FREEDOM'S SONG: ABRAHAM LINCOLN AND THE CIVIL WAR

The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the musical Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, directed by Jeff Calhoun, March 13 through May 20, 2015, at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). A new adaptation of the Broadway musical The Civil War, Freedom's Song features the words of Abraham Lincoln and music inspired by the letters of those who lived through the Civil War. The production is part of Ford's 150: Remembering the Lincoln Assassination, a series of events marking the 150 years since Abraham Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre.

BWW Reviews: BYU's Impressive U.S. Premiere of THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO Shows Great Potential

Brigham Young University was offered an incredible opportunity in mounting the U.S. premiere of THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. The musical, which has previously been staged in Europe and Asia, features music by Frank Wildhorn. BYU's production is nothing short of spectacular, with gorgeous design, strong performances, thrilling music played by a large orchestra, engaging storytelling, and even special effects courtesy of Flying by Foy.

Players Club of Swarthmore's WINGS Opens Tonight

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Wings by Arthur Kopit, directed on the PCS Second Stage by George Mulford of Swarthmore. Nicholas Pinnock to Lead THE ROYALE at Bush Theatre

Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy, Fortitude) will star as Jay Jackson, the first black heavyweight champion of the world, in The Royale, written by Marco Ramirez (Orange is the New Black), directed by Madani Younis (artistic director of the Bush Theatre), and loosely based on the true story of the boxer Jack Johnson.
