New Perspectives Presents A FORTUNATE MAN

Fifty years ago, artist, visionary and writer John Berger and Swiss photographer Jean Mohr published A Fortunate Man, a meditation on the role of a doctor that is still widely read by doctors today. It followed the day-to-day life of English country GP John Sassall, witnessing through storytelling and photography his compassion as well as his practice as a physician. Fifteen years after the book's publication, the doctor John Sassall committed suicide.

New Perspectives Present The World Premiere Of THE FISHERMEN At HOME In Manchester

HOME in Manchester presents the world premiere production of The Fishermen, by Nottingham-based theatre company New Perspectives between Thursday 19 - Saturday 28 July 2018. The production then travels to the Edinburgh Festival, performing at the Assembly George Square Studios between Thursday 2 - Monday 27 August (not Mondays 13 & 20), and then touring to nine venues in England including the Arcola in London, Monday 17 - Saturday 22 September.

An all-time favourite picture book of generations of parents and children, The Giant Jam Sandwich is the madcap tale of the eccentric little village of Itching Down which is invaded by four million troublesome wasps.

New Perspectives in Association with Lincolnshire One Venues Presents FINDING NANA

Set in a seaside hotel of halcyon childhood summers, this autobiographical play by award-winner Jane Upton journeys back to find a beloved Nana before she forgot who she was. Finding Nana was first seen at the Pleasance Courtyard at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017, and now embarks on a tour of village halls and theatre studio spaces. Stacey Evans (Wolves are Coming for You, Pentabus) stars in this one-woman show.

New Perspectives Announces 2018 Season

Following an ambitious year that culminated in the first rural tour of Richard Bean's epic farming saga Harvest, 2018 will see New Perspectives touring increasingly adventurous new theatre to spaces of all shapes and sizes, from mid-scale theatres to village halls. From rural Nigeria to modern Mumbai to the 1960's English countryside, the company will be bringing global stories to audiences across the UK.

Detective Charlie Resnick On Stage in DARKNESS DARKNESS at Nottingham Playhouse

This autumn Nottingham Playhouse and New Perspectives join forces with acclaimed novelist John Harvey to bring his most famous creation, jazz-loving detective Charlie Resnick, to the stage for the very first time. DARKNESS DARKNESS, which is Harvey's own adaptation of his bestselling novel, runs from September 30 to October 15. The production is part of the Playhouse's Sweet Vengeance season, which explores the themes of revenge, justice and resentments buried deep, in a series of work that also includes Peter Shaffer's Sleuth (September) and Thomas Middleton's The Revenger's Tragedy (November).

Toby Jones & Juliet Stevenson to Lead PLACEPRINTS at Print Room at the Coronet

Full casting is today announced for the world premiere of PlacePrints. Print Room at the Coronet is proud to welcome Toby Jones and Juliet Stevenson leading the company in a semi-staged production of four new dramatic works by David Rudkin, inspired by British rural landscapes and presented in associated with East Midlands touring theatre company New Perspectives. Jack McNamara also directs Richard Lynch, Hugh Ross and Frances Tomelty. The readings will take place over two nights and also complements Rudkin's new translation of Jean Genet's Deathwatch which is on at the Print Room at the Coronet from 11 April - 7 May.

Danny Lee Wynter, Tom Varey & Joseph Quinn Lead Jean Genet's DEATHWATCH at the Print Room

The full cast is announced for the final production in the Coronet's spring season, DEATHWATCH, from April 11 to May 7. This new Print Room production of Jean Genet's powerful and provocative first play, in a translation by David Rudkin, marks its first major revival in almost 30 years. Deathwatch stars Danny Lee Wynter, Joseph Quinn, Tom Varey and Emma Naomi, and is directed by Geraldine Alexander, who received critical acclaim for the direction of her own play, Amygdala, at The Print Room's former space in 2013. The Coronet is also working with playwright David Rudkin on complementary activity around the production.

2014 Brits Off Broadway Festival to Run 4/1-6/29

The critically acclaimed Brits Off Broadway festival, host to the UK's most innovative and provocative theater in New York City, returns for its 9th season of New York premieres of new British theater. Presented by 59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer), Brits Off Broadway launches on Tuesday, April 1 and runs through Sunday, June 29.
