Tomorrow, Tuesday 13 November 2012, sees the final cast in Edward Hall's critically acclaimed production of Chariots of Fire take to the track at the Gielgud Theatre after its previously announced extension through to 2 February 2013.

Edward Hall's critically acclaimed production of Chariots of Fire is now booking at the Gielgud Theatre to 2 February 2013. Since transferring to the West End in May this year for a previously announced limited run, Chariots of Fire has been championed by Olympians past and present who have joined theatregoers in applauding this inspirational tale of hope, honour and belief. Legendary Greek composer Vangelis and the cast of the West End stage production of Chariots of Fire celebrated the arrival of the Olympic torch in the West End yesterday, Thursday 26 July 2012.

Ben Cross, Nigel Havers, Nicholas Farrell and Alice Krige, stars of the original 1981 film Chariots of Fire, made a surprise visit to the Gielgud Theatre last night, July 10, to meet with the actors currently performing in Edward Hall's five star stage production of the same name. The stage cast, led by James McArdle, Jack Lowden, Tam Williams, Mark Edel-Hunt and Savannah Stevenson were introduced to their film character counterparts and to an excited audience at the Gielgud Theatre. Hugh Hudson, Director of the original film and co-producer of the new stage adaptation joined actors from both film and stage at this unique curtain call.

The Hampstead Theatre has announced the world premiere of CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett brings the Olympic story to the stage for the first time in a new adaptation inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay. Directed by Hampstead Theatre's Artistic Director Edward Hall, CHARIOTS OF FIRE will be performed on a spectacular set by award-winning designer Miriam Buether, which transforms Hampstead Theatre into a stadium, making an immersive experience that evokes the 1924 Paris games. The production will also feature the legendary music of the Vangelis score with additional live music and arrangements by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Carr.
