The New York Philharmonic has announced its 2023-24 season, the farewell season of Jaap van Zweden's tenure as the Orchestra's Music Director.

Three-time Grammy-nominated tenor Nicholas Phan returns to the New York Philharmonic under Jaap van Zweden this spring to sing the Evangelist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion (March 23–25).

On April 7–8, Donghoon Shin's orchestral work Upon His Ghostly Solitude receives its world premiere with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by longtime champion Osmo Vänskä.

London's acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields makes its highly anticipated return to Bravo! Vail with Music Director Joshua Bell. World-renowned resident orchestras-the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra-join for 17 programs led by Music Directors Jaap van Zweden, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Fabio Luisi, in addition to guest conductors Marin Alsop, Giancarlo Guerrero, Hannu Lintu, Stéphane Denève, Jeff Tyzik, and Justin Freer.

A Musica Sacra program spotlighting works by women composers spanning 500 years (April 18, 2023); the world premiere of a setting of the Stabat Mater for soloists, chorus, organ, and orchestra by David Briggs at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, which will be livestreamed free of charge (March 8, 2023), and Bach's Mass in B Minor with the Oratorio Society of New York (May 8, 2023) are highlights of the spring 2023 season of Kent Tritle, who is Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Music Director of both the Oratorio Society of New York, the acclaimed volunteer ensemble, and Musica Sacra, New York's elite professional chorus.

GRAMMY Award-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is a radical experiment in musical democracy, proving for 50 years what happens when exceptional artists gather with total trust in each other and faith in the creative process… performing without a conductor. Making Carnegie Hall its home for over 35 years, Orpheus returns to the Lied Center after its 2017 performance “wowed” Lincoln audiences.

Fresh from performances as the Evangelist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion with the Hong King Philharmonic under the baton of Jaap van Zweden, three-time Grammy-nominated tenor Nicholas Phan sings the same role with the same conductor leading the New York Philharmonic this spring (March 23–25).

From February to March 2023, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) will present two concerts of the series, with all-time favourite film music by renowned Hollywood film music composer John Williams.

Michael Tilson Thomas returns to conduct the New York Philharmonic March 9–12 in four concerts, highlighted by the New York premiere of his Meditations on Rilke. Mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, who premiered and recorded the cycle with Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony in 2019, and bass-baritone Dashon Burton are featured soloists. Also on the program is Schubert's Symphony No. 9, Great.

The Dessoff Choirs, led by Music Director Malcolm J. Merriweather, will celebrate the legacy of Stephen Sondheim with a concert by the 20-voice Dessoff Chamber Choir on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 7:30pm at Roulette.
