Vancouver Bach Choir Closes 85th Season with ST. MATTHEW PASSION Tonight

Vancouver Bach Choir concludes its monumental 85th anniversary season with J. S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion, tonight, March 19, 7:30pm at The Orpheum. Celebrated as a pinnacle accomplishment in music history, 'The Great Passion' will be gloriously illuminated by the venerable symphonic choir alongside the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and a cast of internationally acclaimed soloists.

PRISM Quartet, So Percussion & PARTCH to Premiere COLOR THEORY in Philly and Brooklyn

From June 1-15 in both Philadelphia (Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts) and New York (Roulette in Brooklyn), PRISM-dubbed 'one of America's finest saxophone quartets for three decades' by The New Yorker -- will partner with the PARTCH Ensemble and So Percussion, and composers Ken Ueno, Steven Mackey and Stratis Minakakis to perform, explore, and record a new body of music combining saxophones with a breathtaking range of percussion instruments in COLOR THEORY.

Gulfshore Opera to Present SAINT MATTHEW PASSION This Easter

Gulfshore Opera will present Johann Sebastian Bach's Saint Matthew Passion for three performances on March 18-20, at venues in Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties during Lent, in anticipation of the Easter season. The production is in collaboration with the Florida Gulf Coast University Chamber Choir, The Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers Chamber Chorus, a core ensemble of eight soloists, and the Gulfshore Opera Orchestra and Chorus.

UCPAC to Welcome Peter Griggs, 2/20

?Union County Performing Arts Center will host internationally known guitarist/composer Peter Griggs in a concert, '500 Years of Music for Guitar,' in the Fazioli Room at the Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts on Feb. 20  at 8 p.m.  

Laurie Anderson Collaboration to Premiere at Park Avenue Armory Next Month

Park Avenue Armory premieres a penetrating new work this fall developed by Laurie Anderson in collaboration with Mohammed el Gharani, a former Guantanamo Bay detainee. HABEAS CORPUS, commissioned by the Armory, expands on Anderson's fusing of storytelling and technology, creating an installation and performance piece that examines lost identity, memory, and the resiliency of the human body and spirit. The work premieres for three days and nights, October 2-4, 2015.

Apollo's Fire Presents TANGLEWOOD and BBC PROMS Send-Off Concerts, 6/29-30 and 8/11-12

This summer, Apollo's Fire embarks on its fourth international tour, performing with world-renowned violinist, Alina Ibragimova, at the BBC Proms in London (Aug. 15), The Aldeburgh Music/Snape Proms in the UK (Aug. 16), and performing a separate chamber program at the Tuscany Musical Landscapes Festival in Italy (Aug. 21). Apollo's Fire's debut at the BBC Proms will be followed by a VIP reception hosted by the U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires. Additionally, Apollo's Fire presents “Greatest Hits of the 1720s” at the prestigious Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, MA on July 2.

New Contemporary Ballet, TREE OF CODES, to Make U.S. Premiere at Park Avenue Armory, 9/14-21

A major new and immersive contemporary ballet-collaboratively imagined by choreographer Wayne McGregor, visual artist Olafur Eliasson, and award-winning producer/composer Jamie xx-makes its U.S. premiere at Park Avenue Armory this September. Inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer's enigmatic and eponymous novel,Tree of Codes distorts conventional perceptions of space and time, through manipulation of light, reflection, sound, and movement. The work will be performed by a company of soloists and dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet and Company Wayne McGregor.

David Bernard to Conduct Park Avenue Chamber Symphony in TRANSFORMATIONS, 5/16-17

The highly sought-after American conductor David Bernard will lead his Park Avenue Chamber Symphony in a program of works by Hindemith, Bach, and Schumann titled 'Transformations' today evening, May 16th, 8 p.m. and again on Sunday afternoon, May 17th, 3 p.m. at All Saints Church, 230 East 60th Street, between Second and Third Avenues, New York City.

David Bernard to Conduct Park Avenue Chamber Symphony in TRANSFORMATIONS, 5/16-17

The highly sought-after American conductor David Bernard will lead his Park Avenue Chamber Symphony in a program of works by Hindemith, Bach, and Schumann titled 'Transformations' on Saturday evening, May 16th, 8 p.m. and again on Sunday afternoon, May 17th, 3 p.m. at All Saints Church, 230 East 60th Street, between Second and Third Avenues, New York City.
