The Alliance Theatre commits extensive resources annually to supporting and developing new work and new artists through two nationally recognized programs - the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition and the Reiser Atlanta Artists Lab. The Alliance today announced the winner and finalists of the 15th Alliance/Kendeda Competition as well as the three projects chosen for development in the 4th annual Reiser Lab.

Now, is the time for this. As we enter into a new year, with a new incoming Commander-in-Chief, while also celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. on MLK Day, THE MOUNTAINTOP could not come at a more perfect time and shed a more beautiful light.

Most shows that come along seek to wow you with their large sets, extravagant costumes, and catchy dance numbers. But every so often, there comes a play that engages you with simple, honest acting, and a story filled with truth and hope. Thurgood is one such play.

Atlanta, GA, November 2, 2015-The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced winners for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening at the 11th annual awards ceremony held at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center. Presenters included local favorite performers Denise Arribas, Tiffany Porter, Gina Rickicki, Clifton Guterman, Kevin Harry, Jeremiah Parker Hobbs, Chris Kayser, and Topher Payne.

This evening, Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Guest announcers included the ladies of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project: Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Tiffany Porter, and Megan Rose.

Artistic Director Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company are proud to announce the addition of Eric J. Little as the Director of the Muhammad Ali drama Fetch Clay, Make Man written by Will Power.

The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Sony/ATV Music Publishing has today announced it has signed Ella Henderson to a worldwide publishing deal.

Due to increased interest from the community, Horizon Theatre Company has added three Student & Senior Matinees and two evening performances to its run of Third Country by Suehyla El- Attar. In addition to the production, Horizon is partnering with more than 20 local organizations to bring this story to life through post-show discussions, opportunities to meet the people who inspired the play, special events, and a marketplace for refugee-made goods.
