Smuin Ballet will kick off its 21st Season in October at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts Theatre with its Untamed Dance Series. The program features the West Coast premiere of Serenade for Strings by Wonderbound (formerly Ballet Nouveau Colorado) Artistic Director and choreographer Garrett Ammon, set to Tchaikovsky's breathtaking score. Also on the Untamed bill is Objects of Curiosity, an evocative ballet by Choreographer-in-Residence Amy Seiwert, set to a delicate score by Philip Glass and Foday Musa Suso. Denver's Wonderbound is gaining national attention this October as Artistic Director Garrett Ammon's "Serenade for Strings" premieres with San Francisco's Smuin Ballet. In addition, the work will be a part of Wonderbound's season opening production of "Enduring Grace" with musicians of the Colorado Symphony. "Enduring Grace" also features a world premiere work by Company Artist Sarah Tallman.

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble has announced that the international piano virtuoso Benjamin Hochman will be the guest artist for the opening concerts of its 2013 Summer Concert Series on July 12th at St. Andrew's Church in Kent and July 13th at the Lake Mauweehoo Club in Sherman. Hochman will join Ensemble regulars Jill levy (violin), Susan Rotholz (flute) and Eliot Bailen (cello) for a program including Haydn's Piano Trio in E Major, Sonata in A Major for flute and piano by Cesar Franck and the Shostakovich Piano Trio No. 2 in E Minor.
