Victory Gardens Presents Town Hall: #NEVERAGAINCHICAGO To End Gun Violence

Victory Gardens Theater, in association with Natural Shocks National Project and HowlRound Theatre Commons, presents Town Hall: #NeverAgainChicago to discuss the call to action taking place across the nation by students and allies to end gun violence. #NeverAgainChicago, which also features a reading of an excerpt from Lauren Gunderson's new play Natural Shocks, will be held in the Za?ek McVay Theater at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue on Sunday, April 15 at 6pm. This event is FREE and open to the public. HowlRound Theatre Commons will livestream the event and can be viewed at www.howlround.tv.

SWEAT, THE MUSIC MAN, and More Lead The Goodman's 2018-19 Season

Artistic Director Robert Falls announces Goodman Theatre's new 2018/2019 Season-a 14-play line-up of timely, original and inspired works curated by Falls in collaboration with his artistic associates. The new season, which begins in September and continues through July 2019, includes 10 full productions on the Goodman's stages (856-seat Albert Theatre and 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre) plus three free New Stagesdevelopmental productions, and one TBA production TBA staged as part of the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance's 2018 International Latino Theater Festival. Goodman Theatre memberships, including new flexible packages, are now available for purchase.

The Prop Thtr Announces 2018-19 Season

The Prop Thtr is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with NEVERLAND, a new devised adaptation of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, written and directed by the Prop's new Artistic Director Olivia Lilley. This young adult take on the classic centers on the war for control of Neverland raging between Peter, Wendy and Captain Hook.

ATCA Selects Steinberg New Play Award Finalists

After lengthy deliberation, the American Theatre Critics Association has selected six finalists for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, recognizing playwrights for the best scripts that premiered professionally outside New York City during 2017.

Primary Stages Announces 2018/19 Season

PRIMARY STAGES (Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Shane D. Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) is proud to announce its complete 2018/19 Season, which will kick off in Fall 2018 with FINAL FOLLIES, by A.R. Gurney (Love Letters, Sylvia, Black Tie at Primary Stages) and directed by David Saint (Clever Little Lies). DOWNSTAIRS by Theresa Rebeck ("Smash," Dead Accounts, Poor Behavior at Primary Stages), directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (What We're Up Against) in November 2018 will star Tyne Daly (Mother & Sons, Master Class) and Tim Daly ("Wings," "Madam Secretary") sharing the New York stage for the first time. Early 2019 will bring GOD SAID THIS by Leah Nanako Winkler (Two Mile Hollow), directed by Morgan Gould (Kentucky); and the season will conclude in Spring 2019 with LITTLE WOMEN, written by Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice), based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). Performance schedules, additional casting, and full creative teams will be announced at a later date.

Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) announced today Saturday Night Strings, a special post-show concert series following select Saturday night performances of A WALK WITH MR. HEIFETZ, written by James Inverne and directed by Andrew Leynse. All ticketholders for the evenings of Saturday, February 10 (Mariella Haubs); Saturday, February 17 (Edward W. Hardy of Sterling Strings); and Saturday, February 24 (Luisa Bastidas) are invited to remain after the performance to enjoy live music performed by special guest violinists. The concerts are free for all ticketholders for that evening's performance.

Victory Gardens Awarded David Rockefeller Fund Grant For New Public Programs Initiative

Victory Gardens Theater introduces Public Programs to Envision Justice through the Lens of Theater, a new initiative made possible by a grant from The David Rockefeller Fund. Public Programs is an event series designed to enhance audience experience by exploring themes and issues within Victory Gardens' productions by provoking dialogue and deepening the relationship between audiences and the plays. Public Programs to Envision Justice takes Victory Gardens one step further by building a stream of citizen engagement programs that will contextualize the plays in relation to the issues surrounding criminal justice and lead audiences to understanding their role in affecting change.

Los Angeles LGBT Center Receives Margaret Harford Award from LA Drama Critics Circle

In recognition of providing life-enriching productions and performances spanning two decades to LGBT people and their allies, the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has been honored with the Margaret Harford Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatre by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC). The award will be presented on Monday, March 19, at LADCC's 49th Annual Awards Ceremony at A Noise Within in Glendale.

A Red Orchid Extends TRAITOR Due To Overwhelming Demand

A Red Orchid Theatre announces the extension of Traitor, an adaptation of Heinrich Ibsen's An Enemy of the People, written by Ensemble Member Brett Neveu and directed by Ensemble Member Michael Shannon, due to overwhelming demand. The production features Ensemble Members Dado, Kirsten Fitzgerald, Larry Grimm, Guy Van Swearingen and Natalie West, with Jacob Alexander, Mary Jo Bolduc, Missi Davis, Kristin Ellis, Nation Henrickson, Frank Nall and Steve Walker, featuring lighting design by Ensemble Member Mike Durst. Traitor will add Wednesday evening performances in February and now runs through March 4, 2018. 2018 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Tickets for the extension are on sale now.

The Neo-Futurists present Trevor Dawkins' A STORY TOLD IN SEVEN FIGHTS

The Neo-Futurists present Ensemble Member Trevor Dawkins' A Story Told in Seven Fights, directed by Tony Santiago, playing at 5153 N. Ashland Ave., March 1 April 7. Previews are Thursday, March 1 Saturday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m., with opening night Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. The running time is currently 80 minutes. Performances run Thursdays Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for previews and Thursdays are pay-what-you-can; for the regular run, tickets are $10-25. 2018 Alley ALL NEW FESTIVAL Begins This Saturday

The Alley Theatre's Alley All New Festival, January 20-28, 2018, features six playwrights and more than 30 actors from the Alley and around the country who will be presenting new work through a series of readings and workshop performances. In addition to Alley Resident Company members, many artists have existing connections to the Alley and some are making their Alley debut. The start of the festival will celebrate the reopening of the Neuhaus Theatre. Victory Gardens Names 2018 Next Generation Fellows

Victory Gardens Theater announces Jess McLeod and Aaron Todd Douglas as the 2018 Next Generation Fellows. Beginning in February 2018, the Next Generation Fellowship will provide comprehensive mentorship, requisite training, and experience for these future leaders of color, preparing them to helm arts institutions or departments on the national and local level. The program is made possible by a generous grant from The Field Foundation of Illinois.
