As kid musicals go, SCHOOL OF ROCK isn't half bad. It falls somewhere between ANNIE and MATILDA on the Richter scale of stories about downtrodden kids overcoming obstacles to win in the end. It's got enough emotional oomph to tug on your heartstrings and it gives you plenty of reasons to happily cheer the underdogs on. It's also making stars out of its young cast members, right and left.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit, School of Rock - The Musical is coming to the Fisher Theatre starting April 10th and is ready to rock! Based on the film of the same name, the show will make the audience laugh and astound them by the talented cast. BroadwayWorld Detroit had a chance to speak withone of the young performers, Iara Nemirovsky, about her exciting experience making her national tour debut in the show.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit School of Rock - The Musical will welcome eight new cast members to the national tour on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Rocking their way across the country will be Alyssa Emily Marvin as Marcy, Grier Burke as Tomika, Vincent Molden as Zack, Huxley Westemeier as Billy and Iara Nemirovsky as Summer. Krysta Rodriguez (B'way: THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SPRING AWAKENING; NBC's "SMASH"), recently seen in A CHORUS LINE at the Hollywood Bowl, joins the cast; along with West End star Jon Jon Briones, who will reprise his Olivier nominated performance as the Engineer in MISS SAIGON on Broadway next spring.
