Hailed or hated? Dominant or sub? Good or evil? Ideologies clash as Theatre Exile presents its 2015-2016 season with three plays that call into question where the moral center lies. Every action has a consequence when boundaries are crossed in the struggle for the upper hand. Explore the gray area of the human condition in the world premiere of Rizzo by Bruce Graham, and the Philadelphia premieres of Smoke by Kim Davies and The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar.

The Arden Theatre closes the 2013/14 season with a Michael Hollinger play, INCORRUPTIBLE. This play is a dark comedy, which is set in the dark ages, about 1250 A.D. According to the Arden Theatre Hollinger asks the burning question in this play, "What happens when faith alone can't pay the bills?" INCORRUPTIBLE has a balance of verbal and physical comedy as well as asks the audience to reflect on blind faith.
The Arden Theatre Company just opened the world premiere of a new translation of THREE SISTERS. Curt Columbus translates this play, originally written by Anton Chekhov. The Arden Theatre calls this new translation, "audacious, alive, and contemporary." I would have to agree with this, THREE SISTERS is a contemporary retelling of Chekhov's beloved play, but it also keeps with the tradition of Chekhov. The Arden's production is bold and honest with a strong cast.
Folger Theatre Artistic Producer Janet Alexander Griffin today announced the 2014/15 season. With six full Shakespeare productions on stage at the Folger to celebrate the Bard's 450th, Folger Theatre will start the upcoming season with two special, limited engagements by London's Shakespeare's Globe. First, the acclaimed staging of Hamlet, seen at the Folger in 2012, returns in late July for just three performances as part of their Globe to Globe Hamlet, the ambitious two-year tour bringing the Danish prince to every country in the world. Then, once again in a September residency, Shakespeare's Globe will perform King Lear for eighteen shows. Joseph Marcell (TV's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Jacques in Folger Theatre's 2007 As You Like It) plays the title role.
