Pacific Northwest Ballet Announces 2015-2016 Season, Which Features EMERGENCE, ROMEO ET JULIETTE

Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced to subscribers the line-up for Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2015-2016 season. Highlights include a program devoted to the work of American master choreographers George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp; the return of popular works by Balanchine (The Prodigal Son), Robbins (The Concert), Christopher Wheeldon (Tide Harmonic), and Crystal Pite (Emergence); two story ballets (Romeo et Juliette and Coppelia), PNB premieres by Justin Peck, Jessica Lang, and Alejandro Cerrudo; a newly reconstructed Le Corsaire: A Pirate's Tale for matinee fanily audiences; and the unveiling of Balanchine's The Nutcrackerwith brand-new sets and costumes by Ian Falconer.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announces tickets on sale for WMFE presents An Evening with David Sedaris at 8:00 p.m. at the Bob Carr Theater today, April 17, 2015. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Dr. Phillips Center Box Office at 844.513.2014 or by visiting the Box Office at 455 Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Today or 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Saturday or online at drphillipscenter.org. Created by Founding Artistic Director Kent Stowell and children's author and illustrator Maurice Sendak, PNB's one-of-a-kind Nutcracker has been dazzling Northwest audiences since 1983. Join us now for the final season of this acclaimed and much-loved Nutcracker before it goes into the PNB vault. (In 2015, PNB will unveil its production of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, featuring all-new sets and costumes by children's author/illustrator and theatre designer Ian Falconer.) The Stowell/Sendak Nutcracker returns to Seattle Center's McCaw Hall for 35 public performances November 28 through December 28, 2014. The Joffrey Ballet celebrates its 20th anniversary of calling Chicago home in the 2014-15 season and its annual fall engagement brings the Joffrey Premiere of a newly envisioned Swan Lake to Chicago for the first time, choreographed by one of ballet's most acclaimed choreographers, Christopher Wheeldon. Continuing Joffrey Artistic Director Ashley Wheater's endeavor to bring re-imagined story-ballets to Chicago audiences, this performance represents the first time The Joffrey Ballet has ever performed a Swan Lake in its almost 60-year history. Swan Lake is presented at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Congress Parkway, in 10 performances only, today, October 15 - 26.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Opens Box Office for the 2014-2015 Season

Pacific Northwest Ballet opens its Box Office for 2014-2015 ticket sales on Monday, July 21. As is its tradition, PNB is offering a special money-saving deal for early-bird ticket-buyers, to celebrate the company's 42nd season: Pay no service fees on tickets purchased thru July 31.* Tickets (as well as money-saving subscriptions) may be purchased either by phone (206.441.2424), online (PNB.org) or in person at the PNB Box Office, 301 Mercer Street at Seattle Center.

Highlights include a program devoted to the work of acclaimed choreographer William Forsythe; the return of popular works by George Balanchine, Alexei Ratmansky, David Dawson, and Nacho Duato; a world premiere by New York City Ballet's Justin Peck, a PNB premiere by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa; and a fond farewell to the Northwest's favorite holiday tradition, Kent Stowell and Maurice Sendak's Nutcracker. (PNB will unveil a new production of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker with sets and costumes by Ian Falconer in 2015.)
