Before the Kauffman Center for the Performing arts opened, co-productions with the likes of the San Francisco Opera seemed unthinkable, but now, the Lyric Opera teams with that company to present a new vision of THE MAJIC FLUTE.

Riverside Theatre's 40th Anniversary celebration begins with the tuneful, nostalgic musical, I Love A Piano. This festive musical tribute showcasing songs from the legendary Irving Berlin performs on the Stark Stage from October 29 - November 17, 2013.

HOMEGOINGS is a 58-minute film that takes an up-close look at the rarely seen world of undertaking in the black community, where funeral rites draw on a rich palette of tradition, history, music and celebration. The award-winning film was produced and directed by Christine Turner, who will be on hand opening night to talk about the film and its impact on her. Also performing a mini-concert that night will be the film's composer, musician Daniel Roumain.

Though Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this past May, the organization had a successful first filing and continues forward while working with its community ties and partnerships. Artistic and Executive Director Catherine Peila has announced an exciting roster of both new and returning artists as part of DNA PRESENTS 2013-14 season. To kick off the season, a launch party today, September 17, 2013 will feature performances from season artists and special guests DJ's.

Broadway star Rob McClure (Chaplin) returns to The Muny for the second time this summer as Bert in The Muny's production of Disney's MARY POPPINS. McClure appeared earlier this season as Farquaad in the theatre's production of SHREK: THE MUSICAL. The Muny is currently presenting its second show of its fantastic 95th Season, Dreamworks Shrek The Musical, directed by John Tartaglia and choreographed by Vince Pesce. Stephen Wallem joins Julia Murney who plays Princess Fiona, Rob McClure as Lord Farquaad, Michael James Scott as Donkey, and Natalie Venetia Belcon as Dragon. This is director John Tartaglia's Muny directorial debut, after his critically-acclaimed performance as the Genie in last year's production of Disney's Aladdin.
