The Sarasota Ballet proudly announces the complete program schedule for its 2010-2011 20th Anniversary season which will feature nine ballets new to the company including more works by some the best choreographers of our day - Twyla Tharp, Christopher Wheeldon, Will Tuckett, Yuri Possokhov and Dominic Walsh - as well as great choreographers of the 20th century - George Balanchine, Sir Frederick Ashton, and Dame Ninette de Valois.
Sarasota Ballet announces it has hired Mary Anne Servian to serve as the Business Director for the company. Servian has enjoyed a significant career consulting with municipalities and local governments to improve their management and operation practices.
Casting is now complete for the multiple Tony Award-winning Contact, a major new production by Asolo Rep in collaboration with The Sarasota Ballet, running from October 23?November 22 on Asolo Rep?s mainstage. Tickets to Contact are on sale now at the Asolo Rep box office.
Asolo Repertory Theatre announces Tome' Cousin as Director/Choreographer for its 09-10 season production of Susan Stroman's Tony winning musical, Contact. Cousin performed in and helped to develop Contact as part of the original Lincoln Center ensemble, both off-Broadway and on, from 1999-2002. As Supervising Director for Susan Stroman Productions of Contact, he is the only person sanctioned by Stroman to direct the production.
Michael Donald Edwards, Asolo Repertory Theatre's producing artistic director, announced today his selections for the 2009-2010 season of plays, his fourth season with the company. Asolo Rep's 51ST season kicks off in October with CONTACT, an exciting new musical produced by Asolo Rep in collaboration with the Sarasota Ballet.
