Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company Presents THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Now thru 9/22

Nottingham Playhouse launches their autumn season with Oscar Wilde's timeless and much loved masterpiece, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Following his much acclaimed production of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES which starred Janie Dee and Rupert Wickham, Giles Croft directs a cast which includes Joanna Brookes (The Physicists - Donmar) as Lady Bracknell, Sam Callis (Howard Davis' production of Hay Fever - Noel Coward Theatre, Game of Thrones Sky Atlantic) as Jack Worthing, Hywel Morgan (Tony Blair - A Walk On Part - Soho Theatre) as Algernon, Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi (Leyla Harding - Emmerdale ITV Rafta Rafta National Theatre) as Gwendolen and Anjli Mohindra (The Sarah Jane Adventures BBC1) as Cecily.

Live Theatre and Soho Theatre have announced that following its critically acclaimed sell-out double run at Live Theatre, Newcastle and Soho Theatre, A WALK ON PART: THE FALL OF NEW LABOUR transfers to the Arts Theatre in London's West End, with John Hodgkinson reprising his highly acclaimed role as Chris Mullin, from tonight, 26 June, 7.30pm to 14 July.

Live Theatre and Soho Theatre previously announced that following its critically acclaimed sell-out double run at Live Theatre, Newcastle and Soho Theatre, A WALK ON PART: THE FALL OF NEW LABOUR is transferring to the Arts Theatre in London's West End, with John Hodgkinson reprising his highly acclaimed role as Chris Mullin, from today, Tuesday 19 June to Saturday 14 July. Opening night is Tuesday 26 June, 7.30pm.

Live Theatre and Soho Theatre are delighted to announce the full cast for the West End transfer of A WALK ON PART including one of Britain's leading female comedians Andi Osho, who will be joined by returning cast members John Hodgkinson, Hywel Morgan and Tracey Gillman plus previously announced new cast member Joe Caffrey.

The Pitmen Painters recently concluded an acclaimed run at London's Royal National Theatre. Inspired by a book by William Feaver, and hailed by London critics as 'a glorious instant classic' (Evening Standard), 'a wonderful piece of theatre' (Financial Times) 'a beautiful work of art that everybody should see' (The Times of London), and 'a superb piece of work; warm, funny, sad, and thought-provoking' (The Daily Telegraph), the play tells the story of the Ashington Group - miners from Northumberland who became celebrated painters. THE PITMEN PAINTERS was named Best Play at the 2008 Evening Standard Awards.Max Roberts directs the British cast, which will include Christopher Connel, Michael Hodgson, Ian Kelly, Brian Lonsdale, Lisa McGrillis, Deka Walmsley, David Whitaker and Phillippa Wilson. The play begins previews Sept. 14 and opens Sept. 30 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
