Featuring an array of Broadway and Cabaret's most dynamic performers, Sondheim Unplugged celebrates the work of Broadway's most beloved and prolific composer, accompanied by piano only.

Tony, Grammy & Golden Globe Award winner Bernadette Peters began performances in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC alongside Tony & Emmy Award winner Elaine Stritch last night, Tuesday, July 13th and BroadwayWorld was at the stagedoor following the final bow to cature the new stars greet their fans! Directed by Tony Award-winner Trevor Nunn, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC plays at theWalter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street).

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 12th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is sponsored by the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Pedigree® Food for Dogs with additional sponsorship by the New York Times. The event will take place on Saturday, July 10th in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (Celebrity participation begins at 5:15 PM).

National High School Musical Theater Awards Announced Winners, 6/28

Two students were presented with JimmyTM Awards for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress on Monday, June 28 at Broadway's Marquis Theatre at the 2nd Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), presented by Pittsburgh CLO and Nederlander Alliances LLC. Alexandria Payne of the Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta won for her performance as ‘Ti Moune' in Once on This Island and Kyle Selig of Huntington Beach High School in Long Beach, CA won for his turn as ‘Don Lockwood' in Singin' in the Rain. Each student received $10,000 to further their education and they are eligible for four-year merit and need-based scholarship assistance to attend the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama, Undergraduate at New Studio on Broadway: Music theatre and Acting, contingent upon acceptance into the program.

Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, star of Stephen Sondheim's critically acclaimed Broadway musical revival, A Little Night Music, made his solo concert debut, 'I Happen to Like New York,' at NYC's premiere night club, Feinstein's at Loews Regency on Sunday, June 27th. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture Herdlicka with his friends and family backstage following his performance.

Last night, June 28, the 2nd Annual Jimmy Awards were held at the Marquis Theatre, home to COME FLY AWAY. Kathie Lee Gifford hosted and presenters included nine time Tony-winner Tommy Tune, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka of A Little Night Music, and Krysta Rodriguez and Adam Riegler of The Addams Family.
