On Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27, BC/EFA hosted the 24th ANNUAL EASTER BONNET COMPETITION. This year, the competition raised an impressive $3,265,700 by the 64 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies benefiting Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS. Since it began in 1987, the 23 editions of the EASTER BONNET COMPETITION have raised over $42 million for BC/EFA. The Manhattan Theatre Club Broadway premiere of COLLECTED STORIES, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies (Time Stands Still, Dinner with Friends), directed by Lynne Meadow (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, The Loman Family Picnic) opened last night at MTC's Samuel J. Chuck Mead, musical arranger for the upcoming Broadway production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET said he had some apprehension about maintaining the rock authenticity in a big rock show on Broadway . However, Mead believes the Great White Way is ready for some authentic rock 'n' roll.
