Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. This., Side by Side by Susan Blackwell) will co-host Broadway Back to School, a benefit for the International Thespian Society's (ITS) initiatives to support theatre arts education for underserved students and schools. Broadway Back to School 2015 will be a fun-filled, fast-paced evening that includes cocktails, dinner, no long speeches, and appearances by Nicolette Robinson ('The Affair', 'Hart of Dixie', 'Perfect Couples'), Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, How to Succeed..., 'Ugly Betty', He's Way More Famous Than You), Blake Daniel (Spring Awakening, Hello Again) as well as other stars of stage and screen, Thespian alumni, and friends.

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis welcomes the Regional Premiere of Silence! The Musical opening tonight, August 13, 2015 on the Frank and Katrina Basile Stage. This production runs through September 13, 2015, with Bryan Fonseca serving as director.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film, whose 31st Powerhouse Season is underway in Poughkeepsie, have announced additional casting for their summer collaboration, running through August 2.

Studio Theatre's 2nd Stage has been transformed into a cabaret theatre, complete with proscenium running lights and a runway that would make any Mama Rose proud.  With tongue planted firmly in cheek, the familiar story of Jonathan Demme's Oscar Winning 1991 film, "Silence of the Lambs," comes to life. 

Today in 2008, [title of show] opened at the Lyceum Theatre, where it ran for 102 performances. [title of show] is a one-act musical, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and a book by Hunter Bell. The show chronicles its own creation as an entry in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and follows the struggles of the author and composer/lyricist and their two actress friends during the initial brief (three-week) creative period, along with subsequent events leading up to the show's production. Writer/stars Bowen and Bell, as well as director Michael Berresse all won Obie Awards for their work on the off-Broadway production, and Bell was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical.

The 25th epic edition of Broadway Bares celebrated the golden age of Broadway with an evening of ripped dancers, cheeky choreographers and sumptuous showgirls on Sunday, June 21, 2015, for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.  Check out the video below!

New York Stage and Film has announced its inaugural Filmmakers' Workshop, which launches July 7th on Vassar's campus as part of New York Stage and Film & Vassar's 31st Powerhouse Season. Designed to support early-career screenwriters with creative development and mentorship, the Filmmakers' Workshop features a tailored, process-oriented approach akin to Powerhouse's celebrated development of plays and musicals.

To celebrate the regional premiere of the Off-Broadway hit 'Ordinary Days,' Utah Repertory Theater Company has invited the show's acclaimed composer Adam Gwon to the opening night performance, July 10, 2015.

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 31st Powerhouse Season, have announced the first round of casting for their summer collaboration, which runs June 26 - August 2 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

Atlantic Theater Company presents revivals of Ghost Stories: The Shawl and Prairie du Chien, two haunting short plays by Atlantic co-founder and Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet. Ghost Stories: The Shawl and Prairie du Chien began previews on May 27 and officially open tonight, June 16, for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 28 Off Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).
