The producers of 'HAIRSPRAY' have announced that Phill Jupitus, Belinda Carlisle and Sharon D Clarke have all signed to join the cast of the hit musical, currently running at London's Shaftesbury Theatre. The new cast open on Monday 26 October, with Sunday performances beginning on Sunday 8 November.
Current and original lead performers Michael Ball, Leanne Jones and Ben James-Ellis play their final performances in the UK hit tonight, Saturday, July 25th, 2009. The role of ?Edna Turnblad' is the longest continuing part that Michael has ever played in the West End.

The producers of 'HAIRSPRAY' are delighted to announce that Nigel Planer and Verity Rushworth are to join the cast of the multi-award winning musical, beginning on Monday 2 February. Nigel takes over the role of 'Wilbur Turnblad', husband of larger than life 'Edna' played by Michael Ball.
I never like comparisons but this show may very will be the next '39 Steps' a potential award winning mega hit that starts off from a (not so) small theatre. In this case it's the Lyric Theatre in south London and the show is a farce called ‘Spyski'. It's produced and performed by Peepolykus (pronounced people-like-us) who have been quite rightly lauded as one of - it not THE UK's most exciting touring theatre companies around. They really go to town with their latest hit packing them in at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith in rainy London.
Gawn Grainger, Douglas Henshall, Susan Lynch and Joseph Mawle will be joined by LAByrinth Theatre Company member Ron Cephas Jones in the European premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Last Days of Judas Iscariot directed by Rupert Goold. The Almeida Theatre and Headlong co-production opens on March 28, 2008 with press night on April 3, and is running until May 10.
Harold Pinter's The Homecoming began at the Almeida Theatre in London on January 21 and will officially open February 7 with performances booked through March 22.
Casting has been announced for the London production of Jersey Boys, the Tony Award award-winning Broadway musical. The show will open in London's West End at the Prince Edward Theatre on Tuesday March 18, 2008, following previews from February 28, 2008. The London cast will be headed by Ryan Molloy as Frankie Valli, Stephen Ashfield as Bob Gaudio, Glenn Carter as Tommy DeVito and Philip Bulcock as Nick Massi.
