The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were simulcast Live Nationally on TNT and TBS last night, Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT, and 6 p.m. MT from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. Stage and screen favorites such as Meryl Streep, Laura Linney and Alec Baldwin all took home awards for their fantastic work, BroadwayWorld had cameras everywhere from the Red Carpet to the Winners Stage in the Press Room to bring you all the starry action! Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards are selected solely by actors' peers. Two randomly selected panels-one for television and one for film-each comprised of 2,100 Guild members from across the United States, chose this year's Actor and stunt honors nominees. Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards' official teller mailed the nominations secret ballots were mailed on November 26. Voting was completed by noon Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.

Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections to be announced tomorrow. The 2009 Sundance Film Festival runs January 15-25 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.

Fidelity FutureStage enabled over 600 NYC students from 10 different public schools to get a real view into the world of Broadway theater. Students learn firsthand from industry professionals about acting, playwriting, directing and all the behind-the-scenes production. Each of the participating schools also had a play that was selected to represent them at the gala finale performed by the students.The Fidelity FutureStage Finale took place at New World Stages June 2nd and 3rd.

An impressive collection of Broadway and screen stars arrived for the officially opening of the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Pygmalion on Thursday, October 18 at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). This new Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion is directed by David Grindley and stars Claire Danes in her Broadway debut as 'Eliza Doolittle' with Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays as 'Henry Higgins', Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines as 'Colonel Pickering' and Jay O. Sanders as 'Alfred Doolittle.' This is a limited engagement through Sunday, December 16.

The Toronto International Film Festival was held in Toronto, Canada the week of September 6 through 15. Several American screen and stage stars made appearances. The premiere of The Jane Austen Book Club was held at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto on September 9. The film opened in LA and NYC on September 21.
