Ghostlight Performing Arts Company was founded in March 2013 by Sean Newman and several others who, having worked with another theatre group for five years, found themselves without a program. 'Unable to accept defeat, they began to discuss their options. After a series of late nights and exciting meetings, they came to the solution of starting something of their own, something that could capitalize on their desire to bring quality performing arts to the North Georgia area. 'Little Shop of Horrors, the deliciously dark comedy/horror-rock musical -- beloved by high school and community theatre companies across the country -- spreads its gripping green vines now through March 24 in the East Bay at Holy Names University's Regents' Theatre.

Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken wrote original songs for last night's episode of the ABC comedy THE NEIGHBORS. The production features a cast of more than 30 student actors from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County. Shows will run at 1 p.m. today, March 2 and March 3, 9-10, 16 and 17 and 4 p.m. March 10 that will be sign-language interpreted by students of the CCBC Interpreter Preparation certification program.

Houston had better watch out! Bayou City Theatrics is ensuring that audiences will feel the sturm und drang in the air with their production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, which opens tonight at the Frenetic Theatre at 5102 Navigation Boulevard. Last night, I was invited to attend their final dress rehearsal to get an early sneak peak at their magnificent production, which I found to be wholly entertaining and utterly spellbinding. Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is possibly my absolute favorite musical of all time. I have really high expectations and standards for every production of this show, and from what I saw last night Bayou City Theatrics is delivering everything our sickly, greasy hearts could desire!
