Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater inspired audiences in Paris this summer and will continue to do so this fall worldwide. The new season is led by artistic director Robert Battle at the New York City Center November 28th to December 30th.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, recognized by U.S. Congress as a vital American "Cultural Ambassador to the World," will return to Paris for Les Etes de la Danse 8th International Dance Festival from today, June 25th through July 21st at Theatre du Chatelet. The 32-performance engagement, supported by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, follows successful sold-out and extended festival appearances in 2009 and 2006. After an acclaimed 27-city North American Tour, Ailey's extraordinary dancers will move audiences in France in a series of 15 premieres, new productions and repertory favorites, sharing internationally the next era in Ailey history led by dynamic Artistic Director Robert Battle.
