Ana Gasteyer Comes to The RRazz Room, Nov 16-18

The RRazz Room, San Francisco's premier nightclub, presents the debut engagement of stage and screen star ANA GASTEYER from "Suburgatory", "Saturday Night Live," and Broadway's Wicked. For her show "Elegant Songs from a Handsome Woman," Ana brings her unique comic wit and style to the stage in her new show of songs and stories, hot off engagements in New York, Toronto, Florida, Provincetown, and Los Angeles.

SNL's Ana Gasteyer Joins Seattle Men's Chorus in BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE, 11/30-12/22

Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) is heading to south-of-the-border and other tropical locales this holiday season with Baby, It's Cold Outside. With their unique blend of song, dance and campy comedy, Seattle Men's Chorus has carved its niche as Seattle's OTHER holiday tradition. This year they will add some heat to traditional holiday tunes in eight sizzling Seattle concerts, plus two out-of-town concerts in Tacoma and Everett. For the first two performances of their 33rd season opener, SMC welcomes stage and TV star Ana Gasteyer (Nov.30 & Dec. 1 only) as the guest artist.

Soho Playhouse and N+N Productions Kick Off 'DANNY VISCONTI IS HILL-BENT' Tonight, 10/22

The Soho Playhouse and N+N Productions present "Danny Visconti is HILL-BENT: My Night with Hillary Clinton". Open-ended performances will begin Saturday, October 27th and continue every Saturday evening at 8:00pm at The Huron Club, 15 Vandam Street, New York, NY. A special kick-off event will take place tonight, October 22nd with a debate party at 9:00pm and a performance at 10:30pm. All tickets are $20 for general admission seating. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt, and BRING IT ON Team Set for Amber Charter School Fundraiser to Honor Luis A. Miranda, Jr, 10/4

Tony and Grammy Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with Tony Award winners Tom Kitt, Jeff Whitty, Alex Lacamoire, Amanda Green and other members of the creative team behind the hit new Broadway show Bring it On: The Musical will be featured guests at an upcoming fundraiser for Amber Charter School. The event, to be held today, October 4th, will honor the school's founder - and Lin-Manuel's father - Luis A. Miranda, Jr. Guests will attend a pre-show reception at Trattoria Dopo Teatro, followed by a special performance of Bring It On: The Musical at the St. James Theater. Funds raised at the benefit will support direct academic intervention for Amber's young students in an Upper Manhattan district which has traditionally faced tough challenges with literacy and learning achievement.

FringeNYC Encore Series Begins Today

Now in its 7th year, the FringeNYC Encore Series gives theatre lovers another chance at seeing some of the most critically acclaimed and most crowd-pleasing shows from the Festival. Beginning September 7th, the FringeNYC Encore Series will present 19 'Best of The Festival' shows in rotating repertory at SoHo Playhouse and The Huron Club (both located at 15 Vandam Street between 6th Avenue & Varick) as well as at The Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street between Bleecker and Houston Streets). MEMPHIS' David Bryan Donates Piano to State Department Collection

Tony Award winning Broadway composer and international rock star David Bryan has donated a 9 foot Steinway concert grand piano to the United States State Department Collection to be housed in the Benjamin Franklin Ballroom at the Harry S. Truman State Department Building in Washington, DC. As a founding member and keyboard player for Bon Jovi, Bryan has toured the world and shared his music with millions of people. The plaque that accompanies the State Department piano reflects Bryan's personal belief that "In the timeless celebration of music is that which brings us together, not separates us." That belief is also underscored in Bryan's Tony Award winning Best Musical MEMPHIS, playing through August 5th at Broadway's Shubert Theater and across America on a celebrated national tour.

US Dept of State Launches CENTER STAGE Initiative Today, 6/19

Today, the U.S. Department of State announced it will raise the curtain today, June 19 on its groundbreaking cultural diplomacy initiative, Center Stage, which brings performing artists from Haiti, Indonesia, and Pakistan to the United States to engage American audiences in 60 medium- and small-sized towns and cities.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar Visits Children's Museum of Manhattan Tomorrow

The Children's Museum of Manhattan will host all-time NBA scoring leader, author and historian, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Wednesday, February 8 at 4:00-5:00pm. Abdul-Jabbar will read and discuss his new book, What Color Is My World? The Lost History of African American Inventors, published by Candlewick Press. In the book, Abdul-Jabbar pays tribute to inventors whose curiosity, ingenuity andperseverance made our world safer, better and brighter.

California Symphony Announces 'The Romance of the Cello' Concert, 1/22

Contra Costa County's only professional orchestra, California Symphony, presents the second regular concert of its 25th Anniversary Season, the Romance of the Cello, featuring world-renowned cellist and classical music "rock star" Joshua Roman. Internationally renowned conductor Robert Moody will lead this performance, featuring Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto, and Sergei Rachmaninoff's towering Symphony No. 2. The Romance of the Cello will take place at 4 pm Sunday, January 22, 2012at the Lesher Center for the Arts (1601 Civic Center Drive, Walnut Creek).
