BWW Review: CONFESIONES at Teatro Tercera Llamda

In most of her work, Josefina Lopez explores the hearts and minds of Hispanic women with vivid and bracing language that feels authentic; an honesty filtered through poetry. In her 1997 play Confesiones..., she draws compelling portraits of eight female characters who together might be said to chart a kind of multi-dimensional, fictional biography of what it means to be Chicana in modern American society.

MULTISTAGES is pleased to announce the new musical by award-winning Anita Velez-Mitchell, platinum-winning composers Dean Landon and Anika Paris, TEMPLE OF THE SOULS, with musical direction by Bruce Baumer and directed by Artistic Director Lorca Peress. TEMPLE OF THE SOULS will play a limited engagement as part of the New York Musical Festival at Off-Broadway's The Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd St., NY, NY 10036). Performances begin Wednesday, July 19 and continue until Sunday, July 23. Press are invited to all performances.  

North Carolina Theatre Conservatory presents OKLAHOMA!

North Carolina Theatre Conservatory, NC Theatre's flagship training program offering professional instruction in acting, voice and dance for ages three to adult, is excited to bring to the stage their production of Oklahoma!, July 7-9, 2017, at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater in downtown Raleigh. The show will be produced by the students of NC Theatre Conservatory's Master Summer Theatre Arts School, NC Theatre's four-week summer camp with emphasis on pre-professional training of the highest caliber culminating in a full-scale musical production. Students range in age from middle school to rising college students. This production also features a "kids chorus" of elementary school aged children.

Lookingglass Theatre Company concludes its 29th Season with its award-winning production of Moby Dick, adapted and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, from the book by Herman Melville, in association with The Actors Gymnasium. Moby Dick runs June 7 - September 3, 2017 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The Press Opening is Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

Center for Puppetry Arts to Bring Classic Characters to the Stage in MOTHER GOOSE

Mother Goose is on the loose! Families are invited to help find her with some assistance from classic nursey rhyme characters as the Center for Puppetry Arts presents Mother Goose, August 15 -September 17. Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, Jack & Jill and all the other citizens of Rhymeville need as much help as possible to look for clues and solve the mystery of Mother Goose's whereabouts.    

CSN Northwest presents Hillsboro Hops Baseball

CSN Northwest presents six Hillsboro Hops baseball games live from Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro, Ore., beginning Friday, June 23 at 7 p.m. PT. In addition, CSN Northwest will present the Northwest League vs. Pioneer League All-Star Game on August 1. After going 42–33 last season, and finishing second in the league, the Hops look to bring home their third Northwest League in 2017.
