The Public Theater announced additional casting today for the 2017 Free Shakespeare in the Park season, beginning Tuesday, May 23 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, continuing a 55-year tradition of free theater in Central Park.

The Guthrie Theater has announced casting for the theater's summer musical, Sunday in the Park with George. Leading the cast will be Randy Harrison (Guthrie: The Glass Menagerie) who will play French pointillist painter George Seurat, a role originated by Mandy Patinkin in the 1984 Broadway production, and Erin Mackey (Guthrie: South Pacific) who will play Seurat's lover and model, Dot, a role originated by Bernadette Peters.

That's right! Although primarily universally known as a writer, Josefina Lopez is also a Culinary Chef who graduated with a Supreme Diploma from the renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. She has also attended the New School of Cooking in Culver City where she studied cuisine with a California touch and making pastries, as well as the Gourmandise Cooking School in Santa Monica, where she studied chocolate making, bread making, pasta making and pastries.
As part of its 2017 season, The Glimmerglass Festival will present the world-premiere hip-hop opera Stomping Grounds, a show written entirely in verse blending hip-hop, spoken word and opera. In May, the production will travel to 11 regional community venues throughout New York State and three in New York City, in performance workshops and discussions hosted by librettist, director and choreographer Paige Hernandez, an acclaimed performer, director, and playwright known for her effective fusion of theater, hip-hop, dance and education.
The stunning World Premiere of Douglas Martin's Pride and Prejudice by the American Repertory Ballet (ARB) was performed at Princeton's McCarter Theater on Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd. Martin, the company's Artistic Director, has created a fabulous production that brings Jane Austen's beloved 1813 classic novel to the stage.
Tito Beveridge, owner and founder of Tito's Vodka, and all around Renaissance man, (from geophysicist to microdistilling pioneer,) wrote a play that was first produced in Austin, TX in September of 2015. That play then became a film directed by filmmaker Ty Roberts made with a small budget and stellar director and crew in Austin. The film is now picking up steam as it recently played at the Sonoma Film Festival with Tito in attendance (who threw one hell of a film party with yes, lots of vodka.) The Jeff Awards announced, via a special video presentation, a total of 127 nominations in 26 categories for the 44th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards for productions that opened between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017. The U.S. Pizza Team (USPT) will be returning to Parma, Italy, to compete in the 26th annual World Pizza Championship May 8-10, 2017. The team will bring 17 competitors, all master pizzaiolos, from Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, California, Michigan, North Carolina, Florida, and New York. Team captain Michael LaMarca, owner of the Master Pizza chain in Cleveland, Ohio, Coaches Gino Rago, owner of Panino's Pizza in Chicago, and Jamie Culliton, the reigning world champion in freestyle acrobatics, will lead the team in hopes of returning with gold medals.
