Jazz-fusion composer and drummer Bob Holz will be releasing his third album VISIONS: Coast to Coast Connection, featuring bass legend Stanley Clarke on February 23, 2018!

This January, Oran Etkin's Timbalooloo is celebrating the opening of its first flagship class location designed especially for young children and their families: Timbalooloo SoHo. To celebrate the launch, internationally acclaimed clarinetist, composer and educator Etkin will host a grand opening concert for Timbalooloo SoHo at City Winery on Saturday, January 13 followed by a parade from the venue to Timbalooloo's new Soho space for a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The concert features Etkin's award winning jazz quintet and his instrument friends Clara Net (his clarinet) and her mother Big Mama Tuba and offers a fun interactive introduction to the Timbalooloo Method, in which all the instruments come to life and talk through their music.

The comedy hit Noises Off highlights a full lineup of music and theatrical entertainment at THE BLACK BOX to kick off the New Year this January. A suburban hub for great music and the home of the Franklin Performing Arts Company, THE BLACK BOX is located at 15 West Central Street in downtown Franklin.

On Today, December 16 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., three vibrant New York City-based artists will perform in My City, My Song, an interactive Family Concert celebrating music from around the world. The performance features traditional and original Georgian folk songs from Ilusha Tsinadze, Freedom Songs of the Civil Rights Movement fromImani Uzuri, and original Haitian songs from Emeline Michel. Free pre-concert activities take place in Zankel Hall one hour prior to each performance.

In 1976, Thelonious Monk stepped off the bandstand at the Newport Jazz Festival and never set foot on the stage again. His closest circle of friends and family, bandmates and patrons remembered the last six years of his life, until his death at he age of 65 with a peculiar, spiritual insight. Monk simply stopped playing altogether. His musical soul had departed before his body finally succumbed to death in 1982, the very morning his go-to drummer Ben Riley began recording a tribute album in his name to try and tempt him to return to music.

Earlier this year, Ladan Hussein, known on stage as Cold Specks, released her new album Fool's Paradise on Arts & Crafts. The album is Hussein's most personal work yet, intimately exploring her identity as a Somali-Canadian woman. Cold Specks' Fools Paradise world tour continues with a show tonightin Chicago at The Empty Bottle, and ending on 12/7 with a show in New York at Baby's All Right (see tour dates here or below). Today, the band shares a new live video performing album cut Wild Card at Easy Life Studios via Brightest Young Things.

Legendary Jazz bassist and New Jersey native Buster Williams will be honored at the 20th Annual Giants of Jazz concert at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on Nov. 25.

The holidays are a special time at The Nash as the renowned jazz club sprinkles a dash of holiday themed concerts throughout the month, bringing classic jazz and hot Latin sounds to warm up the holiday month. Highlights include the arrival of one of the most renowned samba bands, direct from New York City, Duduka da Fonseca Trio w/ Maucha Adnet on December 9th. Both Duduka and Maucha worked closely with the iconic Antonio Carlos Jobin, the King of Bossa Nova.
