The Huntington Theatre Company continues its 28th season - a season of American Stories - with A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration, a new uplifting holiday event by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive, The Mineola Twins, The Baltimore Waltz). Steppenwolf Associate Artist Jessica Thebus (Intimate Apparel, Dead Man's Cell Phone, Sonia Flew) directs. Andrew Resnick (A Civil War Christmas at Long Wharf Theatre) provides musical direction of beloved holiday music supervised, arranged, and orchestrated by Daryl Waters (Tony and Grammy Award nominee for Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk). The Huntington's production will be enhanced by local choirs caroling from the stage before each performance.

Two national icons come together as America's Choir meets Broadway's leading man in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's new release, Ring Christmas Bells (Mormon Tabernacle Choir®, $18.98). In this 16-track album, the talents of Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell -one of Broadway's brightest stars -combine with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, along with a huge bell choir of more than 100 members. The CD is comprised of live recordings from the choir's 2008 Christmas concert from Temple Square, a musical spectacle that was seen in person by more than 80,000 last year.

The bold, diverse, and entertaining lineup includes the return of August Wilson's voice to his artistic home at the Huntington with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning 'Fences.' It will be coupled with a spring production of Huntington Playwriting Fellow Lydia R. Diamond's groundbreaking new play 'Stick Fly,' uniting the great African-American voice of the Huntington and American theatre's past with a thrilling and incisive new voice.
