The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces nine awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its seventh year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $46,000 to ten organizations across the country.

Max Crumm (Grease, F#%king Up Everything), Daniel J. Edwards (Anything Goes), Sevan Greene, Adam Halpin (Dogfight, Glory Days), Patty Nieman, Eileen Patterson, Aaron Riesebeck, Katie Thompson (Giant, Big Fish) and Carrington Vilmont (Phantom of the Opera) will be joining the concert cast of 22@54.

In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association and ReImagined World Entertainment presented 'The Asian American Composers and Lyricists Project,' a free evening of original works created and sung by Asian American theatre artists. 22@54, on May 22nd, will present original songs by emerging writers from NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program's class cycle 22, at a late night concert to benefit Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP).

This one-night only benefit takes place at The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42nd Street at 9th Ave in New York City. Directed by Baayork Lee (Broadway's A Chorus Line), the performance features an all Asian-American cast of professionals.
