Argh, Mateys! HOW I BECAME A PIRATE Opens 9/22 at ATMTC

Yo, ho! Yo, ho! A pirate's life for Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recent recipient of three 2017 Helen Hayes Awards. ATMTC brings to the stage its delightfully silly, swashbuckling fall musical, How I Became A Pirate, directed by Jenny Male.  Based on the Irma Black Award Winning book for Excellence in Children's Literature by Melinda Long with illustrations by Caldecott Honor-winning David Shannon, this tale of Jeremy Jacobs' high seas adventure is recommended for all ages and opens September 22, 2017. THE LOVER and THE COLLECTION Double Bill Set for Shakespeare Theatre Company

Building on the critical success of his 2011 production of Harold Pinter's Old Times, STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn will return to the British playwright's gripping realm of doubt and disquiet to direct a double bill of short plays. The Lover and The Collection will run from September 26-October 29 at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW).

Creative Cauldron opens the 2017-18 season with the DC area premiere of an intelligent and thought-provoking new musical, The Mistress Cycle.
