Lookingglass Theatre Company Offers Day Camp Programming During CPS Strike

Lookingglass Theatre Company will offer daily drama workshop programs, based on its renowned Arts Quest and Summergglass Camps, during the course of the upcoming CPS strike (scheduled to start Tuesday October 11). Camps are open to CPS students in grades K-5 and will include physical theatre workshops (which may include juggling, tumbling, stage combat, etc.), as well as storytelling and drama workshops.

Lookingglass Theatre Company, now in its 18th year of offering premier summer camps, continues registration for all 2016 camp programs. Lookingglass Education and Community Programs offer summer camps that feature a broad variety and depth of programming designed to offer a unique theatrical experience for all. Lookingglass summer camps instruct students through ensemble-based techniques of transformation, adaptation and invention, instilling self-esteem and confidence in every student. Students develop strong theatrical skills by working with stories from a variety of genres, as well as create new work.

Lookingglass Theatre Company Names New Artistic Director

? Lookingglass Theatre Company announces the election of its newest Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. Stillman has served as Artistic Director of New Work since 2004 and replaces current Artistic Director, Ensemble Member Andrew White. White, who has held the post since 2010, will serve as the company's first Connectivity and Engagement Director. Ensemble Member Philip R. Smith remains on the artistic leadership team in his role as Producing Director. In this spirit of ensemble and collaboration, Lookingglass Ensemble members routinely vote on the position of artistic director every three years. Elections are then ratified by the Lookingglass Board of Directors, and this artistic transition is effective immediately.

 The Theatre School at DePaul University's 2015-2016 season features two world premiere productions, reimagined classics, contemporary pieces, and engaging entertainment for the whole family.  Productions for the general public will continue for the third full season at The Theatre School's award-winning new facility in Lincoln Park, and Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences will continue to welcome young people and their families to the historic Merle Reskin Theatre in the South Loop.
