New Line Theatre, 'the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre,' opens its 21st season with the St. Louis premiere of the electrifying Broadway rock musical PASSING STRANGE, running September 22 through October 15, 2011, at the Washington University South Campus Theatre (formerly CBC High School), 6501 Clayton Road, just east of Big Bend. Join Stew, Heidi Rodewald and Jon Spurney for the grand re-opening of Joe's Pub as they take a journey back in time to re-visit the songs of Passing Strange, the theater production that went on to become both a Spike Lee-directed movie and Tony Award winner for 'Best Book of a Musical.' This intimate, acoustic set will explore songs from this hit show as well as songs that were cut from the show and songs never before heard on a New York stage.

Shakespeare on the Sound, Connecticut's premier outdoor summer Shakespeare theater company, announces the Apprentice Company for its upcoming production of Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing, under the direction of Joanna Settle. This year's Apprentice Company of 16 is the largest group yet, chosen from over 120 applicants. Directed by Kate Warner, with music direction by Todd C. Gordon, and choreography by Kelli Edwards, Passing Strange begins performances on May 1 and runs through May 22, 2011.
