The Oratorio Society of New York has announced its 2021-2022 season of concerts at Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The season begins on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 7:30pm at the Cathedral of St. John Divine with a highly-anticipated concert featuring Britten’s Festival Te Deum and Rejoice in the Lamb.
Kent Tritle's 2021-22 season schedule features a full slate of events: he leads five concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with the Cathedral Choir, four with Oratorio Society of New York, four with Musica Sacra, and three with groups at the Manhattan School of Music.
The Oratorio Society of New York's 147th annual performance of Messiah had been slated to take place on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Carnegie Hall. When it became clear that this could not happen, OSNY Music Director Kent Tritle and the organization's leadership came up with a Plan B.
