After a year of unprecedented success in bringing the best theatre to the Channel District, Stageworks announced what it deems 'our most ambitious season,' unveiling plans for 2015-16 which include a world premiere and a guest appearance by John Pinckard, a two-time Tony Award winner and co-producer of the critically-acclaimed Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder.

Andy Warhol: Portraits

One of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol was at the forefront of the Pop Art movement and known for his brightly colored images. This exhibition examines Warhol's fascination with celebrity culture and the “world famous,” featuring nearly 200 screen print paintings, drawings, videos, paintings and photographs from his student days in the 1940s to the New Wave-era 1980s. Also on view will be an installation of Warhol's reflective Silver Clouds, helium-filled metalized balloons.

?On Friday, the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center welcomed hundreds of artists, donors, patrons, and public figures to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of its expanded campus. Designed by Centerbrook Architects and with lead support from the State of Connecticut and private donors, the O'Neill campus now boasts eight new cottages and a new rehearsal hall with composition and dance studios, creating living, rehearsal, and production space for an additional 65 artists on the O'Neill's historic seaside campus in Waterford, CT.

'Casterbridge,' based on Thomas Hardy's classic Victorian novel, 'The Mayor of Casterbridge,' is a new musical theater work with book and lyrics by David Willinger and music by Christopher Beste. The 20-character, two-act musical is fairly faithful to Hardy's parable of the spiritual ups and downs of man and features a score inspired by English country music of the period. Theater for the New City will present the piece's world premiere run June 4 to 19, directed by Willinger.
Jennifer Coolidge to Lead SAVING KITTY at Nora Theatre Company

The Nora Theatre Company will present Saving Kitty by Marisa Smith, featuring film and television star Jennifer Coolidge, and is directed by Artistic Director Lee Mikeska Gardner. Saving Kitty runs from July 9 through August 2, 2015. The press performance is Monday, July 13 at 7:30PM.

Under the artistic advisory of multi-disciplinary creators, Marie-Josee Chartier and Gerry Trentham; Amanda Acorn, Amanda Davis, Tina Fushell, Jasmyn Fyffe, Andrew Hartley and Emily Law will premiere new works for DANCE & DESIGN: Old & Young and Reckless Together #35, May 14-16, 2015 at Dancemakers Centre for Creation.

Franklin School for the Performing Arts Ensembles to Perform at Walt Disney World

Forty-one local students from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will travel to Walt Disney World during the April school break to perform for Disney audiences and participate in workshops with Disney performers, choreographers and directors. This is FSPA's 20th year performing at Disney World as part of the Disney Performing Arts program.

DOCTOR ZHIVAGO will be back on Broadway duty tonight, April 3, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Following the cancellation of last night's preview due to leading man Tam Mutu's illness, performances will officially resume tonight at the Broadway Theatre with Mutu's understudy, Bradley Dean, in the role of Yurii Zhivago.
