A cast of six will lead the reading of Wendy Beckett's Off-Broadway - bound production of ALL MOD CONS. This new play, directed by Evan Bergman is the fifth in a series of Ms. Beckett's plays that will be brought across the pacific from Australia by Pascal Productions. The reading takes place on Monday, April 21, at 4PM at Primary Stages Studios (307 West 38 Street, Suite 1510) and is open to the public by reservation only. As always, Connecticut's professional theaters offerered a bountiful selection of excellent theater in 2013. It's hard to pick just a few, but here are some of the year's standouts from the theaters I cover for BroadwayWorld.com:

The customers are grown up versions of children from holiday classics. Bringing them together here is the brainchild of Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, who expertly directs a three-actor team: Carroll as the bartender and Harry Bouvy and Christine Pedi, who bring to life male and female characters in shorts by seven different playwrights.

City Theatre opens its 2013-2014 season with the zany Broadway comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. Written by Christopher Durang and directed by Tracy Brigden, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spikeruns on City Theatre's Mainstage from tonight, October 12 to November 3, 2013, with an Opening Night performance on Friday, October 18 at 8pm.

Following the announcement that SILENCE! The Musical would be ending its long run on December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume after a brief hiatus today, January 19th, at the Elektra Theatre, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.).
