Broadway's Brent Barrett, most recently seen in CHICAGO will play the lead role of Hannibal Lecter in the new Off Broadway production of the spoof hit, Silence! reports Variety today. Jenn Harris will play the role of detective Clarice Starling in the parody of the hit 1991 thriller, 'The Silence of the Lambs.' The paper also reports that Stephen Bienskie, Deidre Goodwin, Jeff Hiller, Harry Bouvy, Howard Kaye and Alysha Umphress will be in the cast as well.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the sixth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Douglas J. Cohen on November 29. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys). The Vineyard Theatre will host a private memorial service for actor T. Scott Cunningham - a founding member of Drama Dept. and The Vineyard Community of Artists, who died at age 47 due to pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome on June 20 - today (Monday, August 17) at 4:00pm at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street).

Actor T. Scott Cunningham, a founding member of Drama Dept. and The Vineyard Community of Artists, died at NYU Medical Center in New York City on Saturday, June 20 from complications due to pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, according to Sam Rudy, a spokesperson for The Vineyard Theatre. Mr. Cunningham was 47 years old.

The long arm of the sword will come to an end on Sunday July 13 when the award-winning 'Monty Python's SPAMALOT' ends its historic run at Wynn Las Vegas. SPAMALOT began its reign in the desert on March 31, 2007 and tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. SPAMALOT features silly songs, dancing divas, knights in tights, feisty Frenchmen and a happy ending! It will have played 509 performances.
