The new developmental production of How Now, Dow Jones starring Cristen Paige (Spelling Bee, The Visit, Cry-Baby), Colin Hanlon (Rent, I Love You Because) and Fred Berman (The Normal Heart, Room Service) will begin performances this Saturday at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane) as part of the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival. Kevin Gray, a resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, will play the role of Fagin.

The Canadian Press reports that theatre impresario Garth Drabinsky has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a massive fraud, while his partner Myron Gottlieb has been sentenced to six years.

The Financial Post is reporting that former Livent theatre producers Garth Drabinsky and his business partner Myron Gottlieb will likely be granted bail while pending an appeal of their verdict and sentence, which will be announced tomorrow, August 5th. It is thought the pair will spend no more than a few hours in custody, should they be sentenced to a prison term.
