The Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc. production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince, returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta for a farewell engagement beginning Wednesday, June 30 through Sunday, July 25.

Théâtre du Châtelet's production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC will broadcast the recording of the show made in February on Radio France on March 24th at 8:00pm. The concert was recorded February 15th, with the cast featuring David Curry, Rebecca Bottone, Francesca Jackson, and Greta Scacchi.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with the Central Coast Premiere of a timely drama about a fascinating and enigmatic figure in American history. TRYING, which opens March 13 and runs through April 4th (with low-priced previews March 11 and 12), is a poignant, poetic and powerful story about a relationship between Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Roosevelt and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg trials; and Sarah, a tenacious 25-year-old woman from the Canadian plains, one of a string of secretaries Biddle's wife has hired to help him put his affairs in order at the end of his long an illustrious career. Biddle, 81, is in poor health, proud and cantankerous as he begins to confront his own mortality. Sarah, however, is also headstrong, and from her early life on the prairie has developed a strength and wisdom beyond her years. Despite the difference in ideologies and age, the two forge a friendship. The play is autobiographical in nature and is written by Joanna McClelland Glass, who worked for Biddle in the late 60s.

The 2010 Olivier Awards will take place on 21 March 2010 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, with Spring Awakening, Enron, Jerusalem and A Little Night Music among the standouts of the season with the most nominations. The Laurence Olivier Awards were established in 1976 as The Society of West End Theatre Awards, and Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them in 1984. The Awards are run by The Society of London Theatre but are adjudicated by panels that are equally made up of members of the theatregoing public and experts chosen for their knowledge and professional experience. FOLLIES to Play Kennedy Center in '10-'11; Eric Schaeffer to Direct

As announced by Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser, Follies, the Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman musical, will be included in their 2010-2011 season. The production will be directed by Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director of The Signature Theatre, and choreographed by Warren Carlyle of Finian's Rainbow. Casting has not yet been announced, and additional production details are expected to be announced shortly.

PS Classics and Nonesuch will partner is set to release the new Broadway cast album of Stephen Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. The cast, led by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury, will head into the studio January 4. No release date for the disc has been announced.

California Stage of Sacramento will be presenting the Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill musical, The Threepenny Opera, begining February 5th. This classic show tells the story of what happens when the banks get richer and the poor get poorer. The musical incorporates the tale of the doomed love affair of Mac Heath, London's reining thief, and Polly Peachum, the deceptively sweet daughter of a successful businessman who specializes in human misery and controls the city's beggars. Based loosely on John Gay's much earlier Beggars' Opera, it is filled with betrayals, schemes, revenge, reversals of fortune, and Weill's famously dissonant score.

Hal Prince to Receive Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Achievement Award, 4/5

Famed director/producer Hal Prince will receive the annual award for achievement in the theater from the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, the New York Times is reporting. Executives of the Theatre Center announced Monday that Price will receive the award at a ceremony April 5th.

Greta Scacchi and Leslie Caron lead the cast of the Théâtre du Châtele's production of Hugh Wheeler and Stephen Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC in Paris, which opened last night, February 15. Scacchi plays prominent actress Desiree Armfeldt and Caron stars as Madame Armfeldt.
