Mint Theater Presents Lillian Hellman's DAYS TO COME

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) will present a rare revival of Days to Come by Lillian Hellman, "one of the most important playwrights of the American theater" (New York Times). Performances will begin this Thursday, August 2nd, and continue through September 30th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for August 26th.

The Resident Acting Company (RAC), Drawn From The Former Pearl Troupe, Emerges With Staged Reading Of THE BIG NIGHT

On June 25, The Resident Acting Company (www.racnyc.org), a new troupe drawn from the performing ensemble of The Pearl Theatre Company, will present a staged reading of 'The Big Night' (1928) by humorist Dawn Powell, a harsh, biting comedy about a woman whose husband has been fired from an advertising agency.  The play was the author's masterpiece but failed on Broadway in a production of The Group Theatre. The version to be offered is a restoration by Michael Sexton from the author's original notes and drafts.  It retains some of the Group Theatre's 'improvements' but includes the author's original ending.  The reading will be at 7:00 PM at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, directed by Bradford Cover, Artistic Director of the troupe.

TDF Celebrates 50 Years of Supporting the Arts

TDF, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing the power of the performing arts to everyone, has been serving the performing arts community in New York City and beyond for 50 years. TDF opened its doors in June of 1968 and has since accomplished its mission of sustaining live theatre and dance by engaging and cultivating a broad and diverse audience and eliminating barriers to attendance. Through a variety of program and initiatives TDF expands audiences, cultivates communities and supports the theatre makers. TDF will launch its 50th Anniversary year at its June 18 gala at Gotham Hall honoring Tony Kushner and presenting its first Founders Award to James Lapine.

Stella Adler Studio Presents New Play Reading Series

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Harold Clurman Playwrights Division will present the fifth annual First Breath New Play Reading Series June 11-14, 2018, featuring new work from four emerging female playwrights. One year ago, the Studio launched a search for new plays by women playwrights, and out of 100 submitted, four will be read. This year, First Breath will feature plays by Julie Richardson, Jan Rosenberg (also the Studio's playwright-in-residence this year), Emma Carter and Jordan Ramirez Puckett. Cast Announced For SKELETON CREW At The Geffen Playhouse

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its Los Angeles Premiere production of Skeleton Crew, the third and final installment in Dominique Morisseau's award-winning three-play cycle, The Detroit Project. The play features Amari Cheatom (Roman J. Israel, Esq.) as Dez, Caroline Stefanie Clay (Broadway's The Little Foxes) as Faye, Kelly McCreary (Grey's Anatomy) as Shanita and D.B. The 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Alice Birch for her play "Anatomy of a Suicide". Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Prize is awarded annually to recognize women from around the world who have written works of outstanding quality for the English-speaking theatre. The Winner will receive $25,000 and a signed and numbered print by renowned artist Willem de Kooning.

La MaMa Presents EXTREME WHETHER, A Cli-Fi Play By Karen Malpede

Stella Adler Studio Presents ONE DROP OF LOVE

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting's Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater will present One Drop of Love, a multimedia solo performance by Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni. Written, produced and performed by Fanshen, One Drop of Love explores the intersections of race, class and gender in search of truth, justice and love, using the ever-changing racial categories on the U.S. Census as the historical backdrop. Fanshen parallels this history with her own, and her family's, search for roots, identity and justice, and asks the audience to examine their own identities. The ultimate goal of the performance is to encourage the discussion of race and racism openly and critically, and to encourage a commitment to making the world more liberated for all.
