L+7 Time-Shifting: The March 21 “Grimm” grew in 18-49 rating by 70% in L+7 (2.64 vs. 1.55).

Amazon Instant Video today announced that video streams on Prime Instant Video nearly tripled year over year. According to a report from Qwilt, which tracks growth in online video usage, Amazon has now passed both Apple and Hulu in streaming video usage.

“Dateline NBC” (1.2/4 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #1 among the Big 4 nets in the time period in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 and tied for #1 in adults 25-54. “Dateline” grew from its first half-hour to its second by +20% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.0), +13% in adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.5) and +11% in women 25-54 (2.1 vs. 1.9).

“Dateline NBC” (1.4/5 in 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) generated its biggest total-viewer result for aFriday edition in three years (since averaging 8.150 million on March 25, 2011). In adults 18-49, “Dateline” matched last week's rating and equaled its high since March 7. “Dateline” grew steadily throughout its two hours, with this half-hour track in 18-49: 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.7. From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 42% in adults 18-49, 41% in adults 25-54 (to a 2.4 from a 1.7) and 32% or 2.2 million persons in total viewers (9.1 million vs. 6.9 million).
