Pianist Behzod Abduraimov Returns To 1900 Building April 16

Lisa Hickok, Executive Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that superstar concert pianist, Behzod Abduraimov's, upcoming solo recital on April 16th was nearly sold out with just a few tickets remaining! Following his debut success at Carnegie Hall in 2015, Abduraimov has had a meteoric rise to stardom in the classical music world, performing with leading orchestras worldwide. An award-winning recording artist, his most recent album, “Debussy, Chopin, Mussorgsky” was released in January 2021 by Alpha Classics and was touted the “10 Classical Albums you must hear this week” by Apple Music. 

Club44 Records Releases New Album from Carol Sloane, Live at BIRDLAND

CLUB44 RECORDS has announced the new album Carol Sloane, Live at Birdland, which is available on streaming platforms and on CD in stores and online today, Friday, April 8. This release marks the veteran vocalist’s 60th anniversary as a recording artist, and her first album in over a decade. Recorded at the legendary New York jazz boite in September 2019, she was joined by an all-star trio, including the late Mike Renzi on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Scott Hamilton on saxophone. North Coast Repertory Theatre to Stage AN EVENING WITH GROUCHO

Award-winning actor/director Frank Ferrante re-creates his acclaimed New York and London stage portrayal celebrating America's greatest comedian - Groucho Marx.  You will feel as though Groucho is back, as Ferrante sings, dances and performs classic routines on the North Coast Rep stage, May 2nd & 3rd, 2022 at 7:30pm.

Kronos Quartet Returns to Carnegie Hall With BLACK ANGELS

Kronos Quartet returns to New York City with a performance in Zankel Hall on Saturday, April 23 at 9:30 p.m. The ensemble makes a timely statement with an eclectic program featuring George Crumb’s Black Angels, the iconic work that inspired the founding of the ensemble. The piece is a powerful parable written in response to the Vietnam War, scored for amplified string quartet with percussive sounds, spoken-word passages, and other special effects.

Drag Star Varla Jean Merman to Bring Comedic Cabaret to TheaterWorks Hartford

TheaterWorks Hartford presents international drag superstar and unlicensed health care provider Varla Jean Merman in her hit comedy cabaret Little Prick. This gut-busting show, co-written by Hartford-area playwright Jacques Lamarre, will offer a double-dose of fun for two performances on Saturday, June 11 at 6:30pm and 9pm. Varla will be setting up her special 'entertainment clinic' at TheaterWorks at 233 Pearl Street in downtown Hartford.

Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato brings her latest innovative project to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on Saturday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. Titled EDEN, the program explores our individual connection to nature and its impact on our world and features Ms. DiDonato’s frequent collaborators Maxim Emelyanychev leading Italian chamber orchestra Il Pomo d’Oro. Fusing music, movement, and theater, the program includes works spanning from the 17th to the 21st century by Handel, Gluck, Wagner, Mahler, Ives, and Copland, as well as the New York premiere of Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman’s The First Morning of the World, commissioned specifically for this project.

Plano Symphony Orchestra Names New Assistant Conductor

The Plano Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce Shira Samuels-Shragg will be joining Maestro Hector Guzman as Assistant Conductor ahead of the orchestra’s 40th Anniversary Season. Shira is a young American conductor in her final year pursuing a Masters in Orchestral Conducting at the Juilliard School with highly-sought after conductor David Robertson. This full-time position is funded by a generous donation from Tammy and Charles Miller. Shira will assume her role on August 22, 2022.

Conductor Christopher Munce To Make Carnegie Hall Debut On Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, April 17, Christopher Munce returns to Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage under the auspices of MidAmerica Productions. The last time he performed at Carnegie Hall with MidAmerica, he was a high school junior singing in the choir. This time, he will be making his Carnegie Hall conducting debut during the second concert of MidAmerica Productions' 39th season.

The Philly POPS and Comcast NBCUniversal Present MEMORIAL SALUTE Sixth Annual Free Public Memorial Day Concert

The Philly POPS announced today that the 2022 kick-off of its popular Salute Series, Comcast NBCUniversal Memorial Salute, will take the stage on May 27, 2022 at 7 p.m at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. Registration for military, veteran, police, firefighter, first responder, and frontline worker communities and their families will be available soon through affiliated bases and organizations.
