The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra Presents PING PONG DIPLOMACY

Get ready for American composer Andy Akiho's jaw-dropping Ricochet: Ping Pong Concerto, a high-intensity tour de force for violin, percussion and ping pong “virtuosos”, with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor Maestro Yu Long keeping everyone in play.

Hong Kong Phil to Be Joined by Jaap van Zweden and Storioni Trio for SUNNY BEETHOVEN - EPIC SHOSTAKOVICH

The opportunity to experience Beethoven's “Triple Concerto” is very rare because it requires three equally outstanding soloists. But in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's (HK Phil) Sunny Beethoven - Epic Shostakovich concert on 26 & 27 April 2017 in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, we are joined by three such players, the Storioni Trio. Maestro Jaap van Zweden also leads one of Shostakovich's most tumultuous works, composed in the midst of World War II.

Disney Princess and Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga Brings a Magical Night of Music to The Ridgefield Playhouse on 4/2

Disney princess Lea Salonga has thrilled audiences worldwide as Jasmine (Aladdin) and Mulan (Mulan and Mulan II) in the Disney animated classics, and has toured in the title role of the enchanting rags-to-riches fairy tale Cinderella. On stage, she has starred on Broadway in Les Miserables and created the role of Kim in Miss Saigon.  The Ridgefield Playhouse and Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series presents the Tony Award winner in a magical concert of hits that you know and love on Sunday, April 2 at 8 p.m.  Praised around the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch, Lea Salonga is a singer and actress who is best known for her Tony Award-winning role in Miss Saigon. In addition to the Tony, she has won the Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards in the field of musical theatre. She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Miserables on Broadway and returned to the beloved show as Fantine in the 2006 revival.  This spectacular evening is partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon and Spa with media sponsor CPBN - Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network.

Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra to Tour Australia

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) today announced an ambitious international tour in 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). This will be the first ever tour to Australia by the orchestra. A coup for Australia is that internationally acclaimed Jaap van Zweden, will conduct the orchestra with renowned violinist Ning Feng as soloist.
