Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show.

Women's History Month Family Day | Saturday, March 1, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Celebrate Women's History Month with a Family Day in collaboration with the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access. This fun-filled day will feature performances by the Duncan Dancers and Simple Gifts Music. Experiment with oil pastels in the style of artist Georgia O'Keeffe and participate in an art-making activity led by illustrator Sushmita Mazumdar in the Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard.

What does it mean when we say someone is cool? Cool carries a social charge of rebellious self-expression, charisma, edge and mystery. 'American Cool' will feature 100 photographs of icons who have contributed an original artistic vision to American culture and are symbolic figures of their time. The exhibition will be open at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery today, Feb. 7 through Sept. 7.

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced casting today for two theatrical productions in November: White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, the Iranian absurdist play about isolation co-presented with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), running today, Nov. 3-9, 2013, and Birds Do It, Bees Do It..., the annual cabaret performance Nov. 5, 2013, created by Rob Lindley and Doug Peck.
