North Shore Music Theatre, which closed in June 2009, is back with an exciting 2010 musical season filled with classic, contemporary and much-loved Broadway favorites. The new NSMT is under the leadership and ownership of Bill Hanney. Experienced in theater management, Hanney is also the Owner/Producer of Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island, a 500 seat summer theatre now in it's 4th successful year under his leadership. Mr Hanney is also the owner/operator of Entertainment Cinemas, a chain of movie theatres throughout New England.
Join us at the Dayton Playhouse on Monday and Tuesday, March 8th and 9th for auditions for our next Main Stage musical GYPSY, running running May 7th-23rd. Auditions will be held in the Dayton Playhouse lobby at 7pm on both nights. Call-backs will be on Wednesday, March 10th. Please come prepared with a 60 second monologue and a Broadway style song that shows vocal range and personality. An accompanist will be provided. If J. Dietz Osborne has seemed a bit distracted lately, it's easy to understand why. Within the past couple of months, he has directed Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, now onstage at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, been putting the finishing touches on Southern Fried Funeral (which will have its world premiere production by Franklin's Bethlehem Players starting Friday, March 12) with his writing partner Nate Eppler, and he's been cast as movie director Victor Fleming in Frankly, My Dear (opening March 18 at Chaffin's Barn).

Hillbarn Theatre (Foster City) is pleased to welcome Bay Area resident and Actor's Equity member Annmarie Martin as the legendary Mama Rose in Gypsy, performing May 7 - 30.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, former stage mother-daughter duo, Patti LuPone and Laura Benanti, may get a round two. Like thier Gypsy counterparts, LuPone has reportedly signed on to star as Benanti's tough-loving mother in the new CBS pilot, Open Books, to which Benanti has been long attached.

Prescott Fine Arts Association presents the Broadway musical fable, GYPSY, March 11-27, 2010, directed by veteran PFAA director, Bruce Lanning. Performances are March 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 7:30 pm with matinees on March 14 and 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm. An opening night reception follows the performance.

Amas Musical Theatre will host a benefit performance of Tappin' Through Life, An Evening with Maurice Hines on Monday March 1 at 7PM. This wonderful evening will take place at Baruch Performing Arts Center (East 25th Street between Lexington and Third Ave).The performance will benefit Amas Theatre and Education Programs.
