Seven Artists Selected for the 10th Anniversary of American Lyric Theater's Composer Librettist Development Program

Lawrence Edelson, Founder and Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater (ALT), announced today that three composers, three librettists, and one dramaturg have been selected as Resident Artists to participate in the tenth anniversary season of the company's nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program (CLDP). The artists selected for this prestigious residency and training program are composers Shuying Li, Andy Tierstein, and Liliya Ugay; librettists Lorene Cary, Julian Crouch, and Lila Palmer; and dramaturg Antigoni Gaitana.

Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Announces 2017-18 Season at the Kimmel Center

A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater.

Barney Frank to Perform with Philly's COFE Ensemble

Running October 6-8, 2017, Chamber Orchestra FIRST EDITIONS (COFE) will launch its third season with a program exploring the synthesis of classical music and jazz - called "third stream music" - including a performance of Gunther Schuller's 1962 classic "Journey into Jazz," narrated by liberal icon Barney Frank, and the premiere of a composition for jazz quintet and string orchestra by drummer Gabriel Globus-Hoenich.

A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces the inaugural year of a new annual season-long partnership with the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. TRANS CHORUS OF LOS ANGELES Returns to Renberg Theatre

???????The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles (TCLA) to its Renberg Theatre on Saturday, August 26 at 8pm and Sunday, August 27 at 2pm. TCLA will once again perform planet Earth's first staged concert production of the full The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie. As Bowie intended, additional hit songs will complete the entire musical saga.

Houston Grand Opera Celebrates 60th Anniversary at Miller Outdoor Theatre with THE ELIXIR OF LOVE

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) marks the sixth decade of making the art of opera accessible to all audiences at Miller Outdoor Theatre with two free, fully staged performances of Donizetti's The Elixir of Love on May 19 and 20, starting at 8 p.m. A magic elixir gives a love-struck young man the extra dose of confidence he needs to thwart a rival and win the woman of his dreams, but the elixir creates just as many problems as it solves. The bright, sunny production is set on the Amalfi Coast in the 1950s-complete with Vespas and a hot air balloon. With beautiful melodies and a hilarious story, it's the perfect entry point to the world of opera for the young and the young-at-heart.

Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Presents Trans Chorus Of Los Angeles

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced it will be welcoming the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles (TCLA) to its Renberg Theatre for the first time. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra And Cincinnati Pops Announce Two World Tours In 2017

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September. The Orchestra will be on tour for five total weeks in 2017, performing in 12 cities across seven different countries.
