Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell is set to perform at the grand-opening gala of the new Lone Tree Arts Center in Denver on August 27.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces the bulk of its 2011-2012 season at The Barns at Wolf Trap, Wolf Trap's sophisticated yet casual indoor venue that provides a distinctively intimate experience with the arts and boasts some of the finest acoustics in the Mid-Atlantic region. Due to popular demand, La Jolla Playhouse today announced a one-week extension for Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman.

In Sleeping Beauty Wakes, a young beauty is brought to a sleep disorder clinic, and soon all the patients find themselves sharing a familiar dream. The show reunites two members of the acclaimed rock trio GrooveLily - Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda - with Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin, who last collaborated on the inventive holiday tale Striking 12.

Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced the fourteen musical theatre writers who will participate for the inaugural summer in July and August. The Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides a one-week residency for a musical theatre writing team to create and refine their musical in Rhinebeck, New York.
