Grease, that longest running Broadway show, is here in Adelaide, and Adelaide is loving it.

The 30 Semi-Finalists for the 2014 Rob Guest Endowment Award were announced today. They are Daniel Assetta, Ben Bennett, Hilary Cole, Andy Cook, Thomas Davis, Daniel Downing, Vivien Emsworth, Anna Freeland, Nelson Gardner, Nick Hedger, Matt Holly, Georgina Hopson, Loren Hunter, Graeme Isaako, Kirby Lunn, Seann Matthew Moore, Katie McKee, Lauren McKenna, Emily Mercurio, Joel Parnis, Daniel Raso, Joshua Robson, Angela Scundi, Rebecca Selley, Zach Smith, Monica Swayne, Connor Sweeney, Karla Tonkich, Tarisai Vushe and Sophie Wright.

Leading Australian theatre producer John Frost today announced new cast members for his multi-million dollar sell-out production of GREASE for the Perth and Adelaide seasons.

Organisers from The ANZ Trustees Foundation: Rob Guest Endowment have today announced two new awards for 2014 bringing a prize pool in excess of $45,000 and called for competition entries.

Adelaide-born theatre producer John Frost has announced that the final tickets for the Adelaide season of his multi-million dollar production of GREASE will go on sale through BASS on Monday 26 May.

After electrifying sold out seasons in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, and soon to open in Perth and Adelaide, producer John Frost today announced that Australia's Number One Party Musical GREASE is coming to Hobart with the full professional cast. Tasmanian audiences will have the opportunity to experience the high-energy, smash hit musical that has taken the rest of the country by storm and includes such unforgettable songs as You're The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, Greased Lightnin' and many more.

A week before the three month season of GREASE closes in Melbourne on March 30, the entire season has sold out. Over 400,000 Australians, including more than 160,000 people in Melbourne, have enjoyed the production since it opened on January 2 this year. It's hard to know where to start with this production of Grease. So much is right, even more is wrong. It is a combination of product and treatment of the product that impacts on the overall aesthetic of this show. The audience participation section at the beginning of the show is particularly laboured and drawn out and it takes an almighty burst of energy from the ensemble in Grease is the Word to recapture our waning attention. This energy level is never matched through the rest of the show leaving it feeling slow, clunky and particularly cheesy. Grease is an almighty movie, a classic that spans generations and has some of the more iconic characters of our time. While independently Rob Mills as Danny and Gretel Scarlett as Sandy do admirable jobs, collectively there in an apathetic connection between them. Their relationship, like a lot of the show, is underwhelming.

Grease the musical will open in at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne this weekend and from today's media call it looks to be one of the most vibrant and spirited mountings of the show.
