Bernadette Peters, Gregory Jbara, Cheyenne Jackson and More to Participate in the NYT's 'Great Children's Read,' 10/4

Bernadette Peters, Gregory Jbara, Cheyenne Jackson, Matt Cavenaugh, Constantine Maroulis, Linda Eder, Montego Glover, Jules Feiffer, and Roscoe Orman will participate in the third annual New York Times 'Great Children's Read.' The day-long event is a free celebration of reading featuring live entertainment for children and families, presented by Target. A list of New York's top-20 'Favorite Stories to Read-Aloud' was specially selected this year by children's librarians from the three public library systems of New York City: Brooklyn Public Library, The New York Public Library and Queens Library. Celebrities from film, TV and Broadway will read the 20 books on the list.

Since its debut in 1987, which then raised $12,000, the 23 editions of The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction have raised a grand total of $8,161,752 for BC/EFA. Kids brainstorm for Broadway this September! As part of Kids' Night on Broadway during Back2Broadway Month in September, Camp Broadway and members of the Broadway League's Kids Advisory Board are proud to present the first-ever Kids' Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, September 15th from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. The one-hour meeting will be moderated by 2009 Tony Award Winner, Gregory Jbara, from BILLY ELLIOT, who will encourage kids to share their opinions, ideas and experiences on a variety of Broadway related topics. The information collected from the attendees will be shared with the Broadway community to enhance audience development programming.

ROCK OF AGES Cast Extends Through Summer 2010, Lenk Joins 9/14

The cast of the five-time Tony nominated hit musical, ROCK OF AGES, will continue to rock eight times a week through summer 2010. Tom Lenk joins the cast as 'Franz,' the role he originated in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas productions, beginning Monday, September 14, 2009 for a six month limited engagement. Mr. Lenk is best known for his portrayal as 'Andrew Wells' on television's 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' Mr. Lenk is taking over for Wesley Taylor, who will play his final performance on Sunday, September 13. Mr. Taylor is leaving to join the cast of the upcoming production of The Addams Family.

Broadway In Chicago, with Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment, announced today that Tommy Batchelor, Giuseppe Bausilio and Cesar Corrales will star as ?Billy' in the Chicago production of the 2009 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Billy Elliot the Musical. Featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, the production will begin an extended run on March 18, 2010 at Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph St.) before embarking on a multi-city tour.
