Greg Mullavey to Star in Frog & Peach Theatre Co.'s TITUS ANDRONICUS this Fall

celebration of its 20th Season, Frog & Peach Theatre Company has announced their fall production, William Shakespeare's most deranged tragedy TITUS ANDRONICUS which will star TV and Broadway actor Greg Mullavey (TV: Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Nickelodeon's iCarly; Broadway: Romantic Comedy opposite Mia Farrow, Neil Simon's Rumors; and The Soap Myth with Roundabout Theater Company). The production will run from October 9 - November 2 at The West End Theatre (263 W 86th St).

A Red Orchid Theatre's THE OPPONENT Opens Tonight at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre, in association with Bisno Productions, with the NYC premiere of THE OPPONENT, written by Brett Neveu and directed by Karen Kessler. THE OPPONENT begins performances on Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 7. Press opening is Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

GRAND GUIGNOL to Play The Drum and Southwark Playhouse, Beg. Oct 9

Directed by Theatre Royal Plymouth's Artistic Director, Simon Stokes, the revival of Grand Guignol will return to The Drum from 9 - 18 October before heading to Southwark Playhouse where the acclaimed production will run for five weeks from 23 October - 22 November 2014.

BWW Reviews: BLACK WATCH at the Paramount is a Visceral Experience Not To Be Missed

More often than not when you go to see a play you do just that, see it. You attend, enjoy, let it wash over you, but still manage to stay safely detached from any unsettling things that happen during the narrative. But sometimes a play comes along that goes beyond a simple storytelling and takes its audience by the hand and propels them into the story almost allowing them to become a part of it. Sounds pretty cool right? Now imagine that story is the most vicious elements of war. And that will give you an indication of what the current show at the Paramount, "Black Watch" has to offer, a gut wrenchingly intense experience that goes beyond simple theater and leaves its audience shaken in more ways than one.

The National Theatre of Scotland's BLACK WATCH Runs 4/25-5/5

Seattle's Paramount Theatre will be home for the Seattle premiere of BLACK WATCH, the internationally acclaimed production from The National Theatre of Scotland. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15th, beginning at 10am, for the April 25-May 5, 2013 performances.

ACT Announces Extension for BLACK WATCH

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that their highly anticipated production of the National Theatre of Scotland's internationally acclaimed production of Black Watch has extended its run at The Drill Court at the Armory Community Center (333 14th Street, between Mission and Valencia) through Sunday, June 16. The production was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, June 9. Tickets for all performances are on sale now and may be purchased online at act-sf.org or by calling 415.749.2228.

A.C.T. Announces Northern California Premiere of BLACK WATCH

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that the National Theatre of Scotland's internationally acclaimed production of Black Watch will make its Northern California premiere at The Drill Court at the Armory Community Center, located in San Francisco's Mission District, a space used as a National Guard facility from 1914 until 1976.

Sean McDermott, Cady Huffman, Nellie McKay Featured in Two Readings at Inge Center, 11/3

Nellie McKay, Cady Huffman, and Sean McDermott and additional guest artists contribute their talents to the public reading of a new play and musical at the William Inge Center for the Arts. The readings are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sat. Nov. 3 at the William Inge Theatre at Independence Community College, Independence, Kansas.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater's World's Stage Program Features Scottish Exchange, Fall 2012

In keeping with the trans-Atlantic relationship, Chicago Shakespeare and Scotland's theater community are engaged in a cultural exchange-one CST production, The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, is now playing to wildly enthusiastic response at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the very festival that launched two critically acclaimed National Theatre of Scotland (NTS) productions that are slated for Chicago Shakespeare's fall 2012 World's Stage series: The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart, and the return engagement of Black Watch.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents the return of Black Watch, the critically acclaimed production depicting war from the perspectives of soldiers in Iraq. After a sold-out run at Sidney Harman Hall in 2011, this world-renowned piece from The National Theatre of Scotland makes landfall with STC before continuing on its U.S. tour. Written by Gregory Burke and directed by Tony Award winner John Tiffany (Once), Black Watch deploys its audience into the hostile environments faced by soldiers, both internal and external. Black Watch will run from tonight, September 19-October 7, 2012, at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW).

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble Opens 17th Season with Remount of WRENS, Now thru 10/13

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble's Artistic Director Tara Mallen announces the first production in its 2012-2013 Season dedicated to the theme "reinvention" is WRENS, by Anne McGravie and directed by Rivendell Theatre Ensemble's co-founder Karen Kessler, tonight, September 6 - October 13, at Rivendell's new performance venue, 5779 N. Ridge. Previews are $15 and run Thursday, Sept. 6 - Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. There is a Gala Performance Sunday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. and opening/press night is Monday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. The regular performance tickets are $30 with the schedule Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. is a benefit performance of WRENS with the original 1996 award-winning cast reprising their roles.
