TBTB's MERCHANT OF VENICE Begins Saturday

Theater Breaking Through Barriers (TBTB), the Off-Broadway company known for its productions that integrate able-bodied actors with artists with disabilities, presents William Shakespeare's THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street), with previews set to begin Saturday, April 14, prior to an official press opening April 22. Ike Schambelan, TBTB artistic director and founder, directs.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Presents theaterjam3, 3/11

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents theaterjam3, a one-day festival featuring the work of many of the company's favorite playwrights, actors and directors. The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all day event will take place at the Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) on Sunday, March 11th. Doors will open at 1:30pm.

Upper East Side 'Romeo & Juliet' from TBTB Begins March 5

Theater Breaking Through Barriers (formerly Theater by the Blind) will begin previews of Romeo and Juliet, traditional, rigidly faithful to Shakespeare's rules and form, yet wonderfully fresh and modern, March 5, 2008 at The Kirk at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd St.. (between 9th and 10th Avenues). The official opening will be on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at 3PM. Ike Schambelan directs.
